It smells great.

Interested in hearing how you like Strong N Scottish - it seems to be a very polarizing scent where you either love or hate it.

I'll use it in the morning and update my post. So far I like the smell so we'll see if that holds after lathering. I found the Lavender to be not quite as strong in lather as the puck smells. I like smoky fragrances but there aren't many around. This one and the Cyril R. Salter French Vitiver are the only ones I can think of at the moment. No, there is also The Holy Black Sandalwood Smoke shaving soap/AS that I really like. I used that one a few weeks back and when I came down my wife said I smelled like a campfire - I replied gleefully "I know right!" She knows how to give a compliment. Good woman.

Here is what their website says the soap is made of-
"Organic coconut oil and organic Babassu oil provide a luscious foam, along with vegetable stearin for its creaminess. Cold-pressed macadamia nut oil, organic Shea butter, organic argan oil or organic jojoba oil provide a velvety skin feel and ample protection. Carefully selected ingredients such as black beer brewed according to the German purity law, Scotch whisky, sheep wool fat, lime juice, Himalayan salt and goat's milk are the basis for an exciting variety of the finest shaving soaps - enhanced with pure essential oils and resins. For those with perfume allergies or very sensitive skin, we offer two variants that are free of any fragrance."

I bought it at http://connaughtshaving.com/?gclid=CNz4i...aQoddQgCEA which is a UK shop (Meisner Tremonia is German) that takes forever to deliver -  3 weeks.  I couldn't find it anywhere else and I wanted to try it.  I tried the Strong n Scottish today and it performed similarly to the Lavender.  The strong scent was again somewhat muted in the lather.  Good soap but no better than many of the US based artisan soaps, e.g. B&M, Mikes, Caties B, Stirling, Mickey Lee etc. and at more than double the price I don't think I will be acquiring their full catalogue.

Thanks Marko. Yourshaving.com in Spain has them on 10% discount but I'll pass. I'll probably get a Calani soap instead.

Received my $6 bottle (free shipping) of Barbus from Slovenia.
I like the history behind the product in that it has not changed for 50+ years.
The scent I'm not completely sold on yet...it came across rather medicinal..a strong smell of alcohol maybe - but the skin feel/effect is quite extraordinary and I would be inclined to rate it up there with Floid and Myrsol. A product I'm looking forward to exploring more in the shaves ahead.

Recieved my holiday shaving indulgence today.  Fruity and spicy and reminds me a lot of Christmas smells.  One of the stronger Dr Jons that I've had.  Cider and Berries are the up front in your face smells, with a hint of spices in the background, and maybe just a hint of fear Wink

That soap label is classic. What does the "fear" smell like? Wink
