Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,592

I bought this razor handle after the debacle at the machine shop that failed to cut the Straight Bar edge properly. The seller kindly included the head that they were refunded for. I use an O-Ring to adjust to get the exposure that was nonexistent and have to say that I get phenomenal shaves with it. I don't know how many shaves on this Wizamet without a lot of digging back in my Journal but just wow great shaves. Such a shame the machine shop dropped the ball somehow.

The Arrefa Shave Cream is a nice product for the price and sports of all things "Badger Tallow" Not sure what that brings to the table over other tallows but it works just fine. I know the Bear Tallow in some of their soaps I enjoy brings some extras to the mix when used but forget what all. It can be found on their website though. This is an okay scent but not one of my favorite Bourbon scented soaps and I do prefer soaps to creams. Honestly if it wasn't for the oddity of the Badger Tallow and use of beer when making, I probably would have moved this on already. All in all a great shave though and ready for a long work day. Have a great day Everyone !!

Almost twinsies! I used the Eversharp 500 Hydro-magic (that you traded to me) again today for a very close shave for the work day. Have a great day, Dave!

Very nice looking setup, Dave. Freddie really brought that handle back to life. I don't think I mentioned it before, but I was relieved that the issue was not from something I did to the handle, but that the application of the sealant had issues. Knothead Brushworks made many great handles and other stuff. I sent my Dad a cool pen that had a hunting motif, with dear and antlers, and had a bolt action lever that acted to extend and retract the tip!

And that lather catcher, wow! I don't need more GEMs. But maybe looking on eBay won't hurt!!

Thanks Eric. I'm probably not helping you but this is my favorite Lather Catcher but a hard to find one. It's inscribed in the face "New Gem" just above the open combs. I'll look for a pic...

Here ya go from the web. Be sure the blade stops are there as well as the bar that flips down to hold the blade from behind and also from over the top like Junior bars. Saw one sold without it but necessary if shaving with it.
