I left some comments over on YT, and I hope you don't mind if I copy them here.

Such a great post-op report, I am very glad for you. You are right, most of us cannot imagine what it would be like to go decades without adequate airflow nasally.
Also so very pleased that Freddie restored the handle and found what may have been the problem. The wood used for that handle is mesmerizing to look at, and the acrylic violet is a stunner when the light hits it right. I believe the handle is in the right place now!

What I didn't put there, as it seemed more appropriate to post here, is that I am curious if you will experience scents better, and if food and drink will have more depth of flavor, as more scent molecules can get in to hit those olfactory receptors. I had a cup of coffee this morning while watching the first part of the video, and when you took a drink, I wondered if the brew seemed more aromatic to you. I know you could always detect scents and odors, and now I wonder if it is more full? There was a lady I taught with who used to smoke and after quitting, she noticed two things: she could smell cigarette smoke on students when she never could when she smoked, and that some foods tasted so much better.

In any event, an informative video, two wonderful brush handles, one ancient and one modern (my vote is badger, BTW!), and more vintage razor tips/tricks!  Happy2

Thanks as always Eric ! Taste seems the same. Scent is there but more subdued at present. I think this will change and may be amped up in comparison to presurgery. There is a lot of internal healing that need to take place before I will be able to know that outcome but all indications is that it will be better when imflamation, swelling and scarring/scabbing etc heals. Still verry tender and sore even if it looks healed from the outside. Thanks again !

A friend who had played hockey and had his nose broken multiple times eventually got it fixed and he also commented on the ease of breathing but was also quite happy about how it helped with eating and breathing.  Most of us don't think about the fact that we can breathe through our noses while chewing food (obviously not when swallowing the food) and that if your nasal flow is obstructed it can be uncomfortable causing the person to chew/swallow more quickly and gasp for breathe.  I dont know if you had that problem too but I know the repair made it much better for my friend.  He also stopped whistling through his nose when breathing  Big Grin

You just described my past 40 years precisely andI think I commented on that in my video. Even public speaking is hard when you're talking and trying to time breathing at the same time through your mouth. Cool

While not having fancy labels, Mike's Natural Soaps sure puts it all into the soap! I have only used two scented soaps of his pre-catastrophe, but all made wonderful lather. If it ain't broke, then don't fix it!

Yep, this was my 1st purchase from him but won't be the last as openings in the soap part of the den open and he has a scent available I want. I like the simple labels just fine Happy2
