Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,400

Today's shave had me thinking of members on the forum. 1st I thought of Ken Fluffy (absent of late dealing with life no doubt) and could hear him saying "It's Tuesday Dave, that means Tabac", probably the only reason I keep 1 jar of it. I love the lather but the scent, while I enjoy it, it isn't a reach often one for me. I also thought of how he gifted me a bottle of some Dime Store Aftershave from Germany unabailable in the States that I like to use when I don't have another to match a soap as it goes with everything. Then I thought of Karsten muelex that was kind enough to help me acquire more and shipped them from Germany to me to use and share with others. I also thought of Jeff jmudrick who has been away and hopefully well, as I used one of his favorite razors, the Mark Cross. Jeff is the one I remember most seeing his SOTD pics of Vintage razors that made me want to try some. He was always a wealth of knowledge about them and how to adapt blades to be able to use them. I hope all these guys are all well and know they are appreciated and missed when they are absent. We never know what's going on in some people's lives and why they may drop off the forums for awhile. That made me think of another forum that claims they are a band of brothers but prove to be lacking when it comes to displaying what they claim especially when one became privy to the behind the scenes. Some people are big talkers and not doers while others are quieter to speak but display by action their brotherhood, character and kindness.(Those mentioned as well as others here that know this includes them but today's shave didn't have their generousity displayed)  Glad I found DFS.........Just some thoughts I had today while enjoying a great shave and hope all have a stupendous day !!

Here's a Gibbs brush I had removed a knot from and finally got around to installing an Oumo Boar knot into it. Lathered it last night with a single hair lost. Used today and zero lost hairs. I think we have a winner in this handle.

Thank you for that wonderful post Dave in KY.  If I may, I would add Jgreenepa,  about whom I have heard no definitive status on any forum.  All of them have shown integrity and brought commendable amounts of knowledge, generosity, and sharp wit to the table.  It is no wonder that they are missed.  And in case Karsten, Ken, or either Jeff happens upon this page, please remember that whenever the time may be right ...

Mike HighSpeed, that is a wonderful post, thank you.

And Congrats, Dave, on One Thousand Four Hundred (plus) consecutive shaves! You mentioned in the video the other day that some days are tougher to get shaving than others. I have been there as well, and like you, after I push through I do feel better. Or as least cleanly shaven!

Great shave Dave, and good advice. I find a lot of times that things folks swear by, just aren't my cup of tea. It can be the fun of the hobby, though... Trying something different, learning about something new, etc.. In the end, as you say, "It's your shave".

Those WCS snakeskin brushes are cool looking. Fwiw, Andrew at APSC occasionally turns a brush in that snakeskin pattern. He has a variety of different colors, though. If your wife really likes that design, it might be worth looking into.

Have an awesome day!

Hey you, quit trying to enable me or her LOL. She's one of these ones that just uses one set and she loves the custom hybrid brush that Eric did for her and the pink lady Gillette. That's why she handed me this one back, she didn't care for it as much as the other. Thanks and have a great day!
