Gotcha, yeah I have the white but still some dark. Have a great day Eric, I knew you were playing. Was just playing along as some watch videos and say he isn't shaving anything because it doesn't show on camera. Happy2

As I shaved this morning, Dave's comment about critics commenting on shave videos was going through my mind. I have never really wondered if the guy in the video was actually shaving. Oddly enough, I have thought that during shave scenes in just about any movie! But what really prompted that line of thinking was the sound. Now I don't mean for this next comment to weird anyone out, but what I find relaxing while watching the video is HEARING the shave. I just know that the stubble is being removed, and the sound of it being removed, combined with a great tasting mug of coffee and a comfy couch, makes the viewing of the video so relaxing! Vicarious shaving? Maybe.

I pretty much only watch 2 shavers, Dave and Paul H over in Wales (?). Paul shaves twice a week, I think, and you can see several days' growth. I used to think he must be quite the fast whisker grower, until I heard him comment on shaving every 2-3 days! And while I don't enlarge Dave's video to the big screen TV (that would freak my wife out! Not Dave, but that I am watching any guy shaving!) you can really hear the stubble.

Okay, back to normality as we know it!

Thanks Eric, I enjoy Paul H as well as Kevy Shaves who I think is in Scotland. There are a couple others I watch too. I may not catch every shave of all of them but try to keep up with them when time is available. I have no idea how my equalizer is set up on my device that you can hear the shave so well but my voice seems to be a lot quieter LOL something's not right in the mixer board for the microphone I think. Thanks again and take care !

Today's shave had me thinking of members on the forum. 1st I thought of Ken Fluffy (absent of late dealing with life no doubt) and could hear him saying "It's Tuesday Dave, that means Tabac", probably the only reason I keep 1 jar of it. I love the lather but the scent, while I enjoy it, it isn't a reach often one for me. I also thought of how he gifted me a bottle of some Dime Store Aftershave from Germany unabailable in the States that I like to use when I don't have another to match a soap as it goes with everything. Then I thought of Karsten muelex that was kind enough to help me acquire more and shipped them from Germany to me to use and share with others. I also thought of Jeff jmudrick who has been away and hopefully well, as I used one of his favorite razors, the Mark Cross. Jeff is the one I remember most seeing his SOTD pics of Vintage razors that made me want to try some. He was always a wealth of knowledge about them and how to adapt blades to be able to use them. I hope all these guys are all well and know they are appreciated and missed when they are absent. We never know what's going on in some people's lives and why they may drop off the forums for awhile. That made me think of another forum that claims they are a band of brothers but prove to be lacking when it comes to displaying what they claim especially when one became privy to the behind the scenes. Some people are big talkers and not doers while others are quieter to speak but display by action their brotherhood, character and kindness.(Those mentioned as well as others here that know this includes them but today's shave didn't have their generousity displayed) Glad I found DFS.........Just some thoughts I had today while enjoying a great shave and hope all have a stupendous day !!

Here's a Gibbs brush I had removed a knot from and finally got around to installing an Oumo Boar knot into it. Lathered it last night with a single hair lost. Used today and zero lost hairs. I think we have a winner in this handle.

The knot looks very much befitting in that handle. A vintage masterpiece Dave.

In addition to Fluffy's words of wisdom, I miss Old Sarge and his fun banter.

And as Dave said, and I will repeat it, "I hope all these guys are all well and know they are appreciated and missed when they are absent. We never know what's going on in some people's lives and why they may drop off the forums for a while."

Scattered comments brought about by Dave (see how I pinned this on him?!)

Sounds while shaving
First, thanks for mentioning Kevy Shaves. I watched 2 yesterday and he has a nice style and is about as tidy as I am for the shave! I laughed as he dropped lather on a dark blue shirt, and made fun of his wardrobe choice! And how he laughed as he had some lather hanging off his brush, like a kid in a candy store, he was soo happy with that lather!

Second, I can hear Kevy's stubble being cut like I can with Dave's vids, and that sound makes me happy.

Third, I watched (skimmed) a couple of Paul H's vids, and he obviously has a production crew that includes lights, props, and even floral arrangements! (the latter are always credited to Mrs H!) BUT, his sound guy mutes the shave I think! This was most notable in the garden. You can hear birds, his splashing water in the basin, and his dialog, but during the shave things are quiet. My serious hypothesis is a setting on the microphone that cuts background noise, like some cell phones have. Important stuff, I know.  Tongue

Inclement weather
Dave made a comment about heavy weather or lots of rain or thundershowers (I don't recall as I've slept since then!). I think KY sees tornados. We rarely hear of them here in central Maine, but they aren't unknown. So this is a PSA I swiped from Rod Mollise (semi-pro astronomer and popular author for backyard enthusiasts).
