Thanks Ken, I may find out it's the remnants of what the boar was rubbing against when he met his demise......time will tell Big Grin

Good luck with the boar.  As for the razor, it seems that's been pretty well covered.  Good luck with it too.

Could get the Tune-up and just polish the brass too  Angel

Well, I dont think it can hurt to polish it and see how you like the look. Also, a little Google-Fu can return a pic of an aristocrat in nickel. If you are so enamored with the look, to hell with what folks may say. It's your razor. Lol.

Also, I thought your initial post said the nickel was more $$. Oops. Lol.[Image: 6942cfb2d2c5a0b2f74e6b2c032cf6b9.jpg]

(I don't know of this is an original finish or a revamp. There's some gold / brass color between the knurling. Might be an original?)

That is the original for that razor I think in Rhodium. Looks to be a 4th Gen. Thanks I had one and like the shave of this 1st Gen better for sure.

Lol, I was just going for general color... To see what it would look like in a silver tone. Yours is an OC though, so this isn't a good match. Sorry.

(Wow. Now that I really compare them, there's a lot of differences. Glad I didn't pursue a career as a detective. Lol!)

Razor: Wizamet 3 Piece
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Vintage Re-branded Burma Shave Boar
Soap: Stirling Oro Valley
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Nivea Deep
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1129

Well the razor from Hungary arrived and I had to have it since it was manufactured by the Company name of my favorite blades (Wizamet) This baby has some blade feel but a smooth shaver. I knew after the first 2 strokes that this was going to be a good shave. Don't get me wrong, she will bite if not careful but maintain the angle and correct light pressure and a glass smooth shave is the reward. I didn't know when I got it that it's aluminum but so happy to have it in the den now. The Stirling Oro Valley is inspired by Tom Ford Ombre Leather. At nearly $100 an ounce for the EDP I think I will go with an alternative cologne but enjoy this soap for sure. Here are the scent description from the Stirling site:

Scent Description

A masculine blend of rich leather, warm spices, amber, and a touch of earthiness. With notes of cardamom, leather, jasmine sambac, amber, moss, and patchouli, this scent is a great addition to almost any collection. Inspired by Tom Ford's Ombre Leather

Very enjoyable and typical Stirling quality performance. Have a swell day !

That's a great report, Dave! Thanks for all the images of your new razor. I could see where it would be a biter if attention wanes...that's a lot of blade exposure. I like the image of the head from the side, it looks like the blade is clamped very well and far out on the blade. Should offer a rigid blade with no chatter, similar to the Gillette NEW, which is purported to be an excellent shaver for this very reason. Like the look of that handle as well. Nice addition!!!
