Hey Dave, nice video! Because I need more gear (ha!), I may go a-looking for a Christy. I love my injector shaves, very long-lasting.

Thanks Eric, not sure you'll like it but they're cheap enough if you don't it's no big deal. If I had an extra Christy it would be on it's way to you.

Razor: 1934 Aristocrat
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Vintage NOS Boar (Unbranded)
Soap: WK Dulci Tobacco Shave Cream
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: CHH Tobacco
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1128

The brush: Even after a couple test lathers and sitting all night with soap in it and re-rinsing this morning, it had a touch of funk scent to it but improved. The Good: NOT a SINGLE hair shed during all the prep and use. The Bad: these vintage are so small they don't make/hold enough lathe for 3 passes. That may improve as it breaks in so it will stay until I re-evaluate at that point.

The Cream from WK: Scent was more pronounced after lathering and it was SLICK for sure. Felt some burning though. Not sure if the brush (I doubt) or the Cream had something that messed with me (leaning to this) This tub is up for grabs to one of my readers here just for the asking. If you want to try it, let me know and I'll get it on it's way to you.

The Razor: I like the shaves best of this Aristocrat over the 4th Generation 21/66 I had. Odd as this is an OC compared to the SB but it is what it is. The dilemma is do I leave as is (rough vintage loved shape and maybe a slight frown to it, sticking doors and perhaps something internal with the rod) or do I send to Razor Emporium for a revamp ? If I do send it in, do I get it in Gold a $40 increase from the Nickel. I'm NOT big on Gold razors and would prefer Nickel but some would consider that a travesty........The other option is to send in for a Tune-Up? Help me decide by giving your inputs please, especially Matt if he sees this !!
Off to my 12 hour workday, typical Thursday...........Have a GREAT day everyone !!

I'm with you Dave. I'm not huge on gold colored razors, either. However, it does go with the vintage look ("old gold").

Well, I dont think it can hurt to polish it and see how you like the look. Also, a little Google-Fu can return a pic of an aristocrat in nickel. If you are so enamored with the look, to hell with what folks may say. It's your razor. Lol.

Also, I thought your initial post said the nickel was more $$. Oops. Lol.[Image: 6942cfb2d2c5a0b2f74e6b2c032cf6b9.jpg]

(I don't know of this is an original finish or a revamp. There's some gold / brass color between the knurling. Might be an original?)

+1 for the Tune-up.  Over time, I've warmed toward the au naturel look. I have a tube of Flitz, but have not used it much on the razors but more on the cases.
