Good luck.  Enjoy.
Thanks for the tips Mike ! It reminds me a little of the Occam Razor I didn't care much for...............it may be repif'd eventually.

Kinda worked for me anyway. Successful shave but not sure it's a winner. Thanks Jeff !
I think they've made changes since the first release to improve efficiency.

Yes I've read that and I believe this is probably a V2

Razor: One Blade Core

Brush: JT Hybrid/Boar
Soap: Highland Springs Forge
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Nivea Deep
Fragrance: Paco Rabanne 1 Million
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,108

We've just made History here folks. Last time I used the completely same setup on consecutive days was back in 2007 when I only had my Col Conk Lime soap and whatever razor/brush I had then.................hey I'm old and can't remember. I will say that this must be the V2 One Blade as I am getting a good shave. In fact today's was stellar in all respects. The soap, the brush and the razor all performed admirably and left me where I wanted to be. I do read a lot about short blade longevity with these Feathers and wonder if the V2 is able to take a despined Gem blade? Also wondering if it requires any snipping anywhere on the blade besides the despining. If a modified Gem will work I can see this staying in the den. The Brush Definitely stays and the soap is good enough to stay too. A winner of a day and ready for some variety tomorrow now............I'm kinda sick that way with the need for some changes. New pic taken just for that reason. Thanks again jluc and jtspartan Have a stellar day Everyone !

Happy  Happy Thank you Dave!  Your blog shaves never cease to entertain, inform, and inspire.  And because it has not been since 2007 that you have used the same setup two days in a row, I think we can safely call you the "Don Juan de la if It's Been Made, I've Shaved With It" of the shaving  world.  Did I forget to mention your great scholarship and impressive span of shaver to shaver connections?  --  Thank you Dave.

Turning from the important part of this post to the more mundane ...  I'm glad you have had some success with the OneBlade.  I've used despined GEMS in my V2, and they are killer!  I ran across a school of thought over at B&B that you don't have to snip the rear corners, but I have never tried that.  De-spining is easy.  Nibbling the corners is easy too, if you have the proper tool (which is cheap), but you must do it somewhere where you can police up the very tiny shards of nibbled metal:  They can hurt your crawling grand babies and your dog's paws.  Also, you may occasionally lose a GEM, especially when you are first trying the nibbling.

Hey Mike,
  1. Great post! I appreciate your posts, as they are uplifting, encouraging, and pretty damn funny! You have a gift or talent at bringing out and pointing out the best in us. Your remarks in the first part are spot on! And like Dave, you too are gem among the forums. I am so happy to have so many of you in my "circle of friends" (from the old MCI or Sprint ads!)
  2. I don't think Dave has to worry about losing a GEM. Like Paul Stubble Daddy and his Tabac hoard, I believe he has a spare room filled with GEM packages. Remember the photo he posted? I recall like a half dozen unopened packages of 500s!! (I kid, but he did have 3, I think!)
  3. And I love the Life cereal reference! I said it the other day, and our youngest tech was in the dark! So funny, I am sure, one us 50+ folks start throwing old lines and songs around the 19-22 y/o new hires! On the other hand, I have worked with a crew where I was the old fart, and most of what they said had me feeling like I was standing by an airport, with things that kept flying over my head!

Razor: Schick Type F Injector
Blade: sChick
Brush: Trotter Handcraft Vein Quartz/26mm Boti Horse
Soap: Signature Soaps Hibernia
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Proraso Green Splash
Fragrance: Parfums de Marly Herod
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,109

So the Hibernia soap is a great Citrus scent that performs amazingly and the this Trotter Handcraft brush is a REAL trotter as I installed a horse hair knot. It felt soft to the face dry. No break in, just a 5 minute water soak and started lathering off the tub. Saw a couple hairs lost in the tub and 2 more on the face when lathering. Maybe a couple more in the sink were spotted so reasonable for a new brush. When cleaning it up, towel strop and drying the handle, no more shedding was seen. Have high hopes for this Boti 26mm Horse knot. It was a tad scritchy but not bad and assuming it will soften with use like a Boar. Smooth, refreshed and smelling great with the Herod EDP. Bring on the coffee and Carrot Cake. Have a Stellar Day Folks !
