That handle on the razor, when I first saw it, made me think you'd bought an old electric razor, before I took a closer look at the photo. You definitely find some interesting tools from the past!

Thanks Eric, it was a fun razor and a good shaver. My only electric was this one. Big Grin

Ooh yeah, I remember that. I don't recall it having that large / blatant electric razor look though. Still need to watch the shave video. Hopefully in a little while.

Thanks for trying all of the stuff out for us Dave. You might need to change the title of your Journal to 'Dave's Shave-o-pedia''.

Happy Halloween!

Razor: Karve SS "D" Plate
Blade: Shark Platinum
Brush: Teton Shaves "Bob Ross"
Soap: Zingari Man The Healers
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Nivea Deep
Fragrance:
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,090

Yesterday after services I had lots of trees and brush to burn that had been dropped previously. Then dinner around a fire at friends house. Left this as it was safe and all the rain we had recently had everything around soaked.

When we arrived home hours later I saw I had a good 2 foot deep bed of coals still glowing that will be fed more trees and brush today.

The shave was great as expected. Bring on the COFFEE !!!!!

So I believe it was Pete Patriot that sent me some different tucks of blades. I tend to use the same ones without trying new ones but I'm trying to make a conscious effort to try some that have been laying around. These are made in the UK and are Platinum Chrome Sputtered.....................go ahead and google it, I had to. It involves ions.......My determination is that Ions are a good thing when using Platinum Chrome. Nice smooth and sharp blade. Time will tell on longevity of blade life. Thanks Pete and hope you're well. Think he got a girlfriend and hasn't come up for air yet....

The Amouge was a sample sent to me by my buddy Gus GlazedBoker and is a nice one for sure. Forgot I had this and 2 other samples he sent. Thanks Gus ! Here's the scent description:
The Amouage Journey Eau De Parfum Spray is an alluringly smooth fragrance for the man who is sparkling with tradition and modernity. The woody and very masculine fragrance was introduced by the design house Amouage in the year 2014. The fragrance starts its journey with spicy notes from Cardamom and Sichuan Pepper. At the heart lie the sweet notes of Juniper Berries and Incense combined with hot notes from Tobacco. The base is resplendent with deep fragrances from Tonka Beans, Leather and Musk for a fragrance that is distinct and magnetic.

So reason for the soap/splash choice was we're heading to poke around Cades Cove in the Smoky Mountains today and spend the night in Townsend, TN before coming home tomorrow morning as we have friends coming for a T-Bone Steak dinner on the porch. 2 years ago her father passed away and we wanted to be with them to celebrate what a great guy he was. If not raining after dinner we'll have S'mores and talk by a bonfire. Have a great day folks !!
