Look at the shine on that Sun Ray set! I can see the colors of the Soloist reflected in the polished razor head. What a nice razor set. Going to start some indoor chores and take some down time to watch the video as soon as the laundry starts and the coffee finishes!

Confessional time: My DIY Dad strongly urged me to NOT buy a chain saw when we bought our small wooded lot and built a home! He loves me but realizes that most of the DIY stuff went to my brother, and most of my Dad's "book learnin' skills" came to me! Not that my brother and I don't have a little of the other's strengths, but it is what it is. I know, from various posts, that you and Ken are strong in the Force of DIY, and I applaud you guys.  Happy Just make sure you know where your limbs are before you get to swinging that saw like you are the star of Texas Chainsaw!!   Tongue

Thanks Eric. Overconfidence can happen as you get into the swing of things. It almost bit me with a tree that was heavier on the back cut side than I thought. The hinge didn't work and it went the opposite direction and threaded the needle between my carport and an electrical line. If I wasn't so honest I'd say, "That's exactly where I was trying put it but facts are facts. Cleared nearly half what I had left to do on the hill. Another day and a half and everything will be down and brush cleared. Then just need to burn it all up when it dries out. Came in and cut my hair. Time for a shower and then some earned beers. I wish I had better book learning as I got older. You went the right route buddy Happy2

Razor: Travalong Travel Razor
Blade: Wizamet
Brush: Trotter "Dark Side of the Moon"/Cashmere
Soap: WK La Fougère Parfaite
AS 1: Humphrey's Alcoholado Maravilla 70
AS 2: Brut
Fragrance: Brut Cologne
Consecutive Daily Shaves - # 1,096

Hardest part about shaving with this razor is putting it together. It wasn't a total hassle but takes some thought. Once together the flimsy thin steel is actually quite a solid shave instrument. Flat blade style that is very efficient while being mild to use. Nice little quirky travel edition to the den. The Wholly Kaw lathered superbly and was a perfect match for the vintage splash and cologne. Have a tremendous day everyone !!

I did a quick search on your U-tuber page, but didn't find anything searching "Travalong." My question, or rather guess, is that that shiny little box in the first photo assembles into the razor shown? That is very steampunk! I have more questions on the razor, but I will search your Journal before peppering you with questions!

And a belated Happy 3 years w/o missing a day!

Since I had been asked a bit about this razor and I may not get to it for a shave video for a bit, I decided to do a quick walk-thru video of it to show it's simplicity. Forgive the fat fingers in the way of it at times Rolleyes
