I had wanted to try one of these ever since reading an old thread by Jeff jmudrick at TSD and can be seen here with all the history of this fine razor.

https://theshaveden.com/forums/threads/t...913.55324/

I acquired one from a seller I've dealt with quite a bit and was able to get an injector blade to sit securely with ease and adjust-ability as to moving it forward and back to an efficiency I liked. Stellar shave and a great feel of how this thing maneuvers. It was well loved/used as can be seen by the tripled plated silver finish worn off to the brass it is made from. Glad to have this uncased/boxed version in the den. Have a great day everyone !

That is awesome! I really love the looks and the history is so fun to read!

As Ken Fluffy calls your den the Emporium (I think), you could book us "spa time" to try out these historic and fun pieces!! And maybe even one of your Dave baked goods breakfasts could be included in the fee, a sort of Shave and Snack Shack!  Cool

Hey Eric you could be on to something, the shave and snack shack of the month club. Just a modest monthly fee gains entry to the emporium library LOL  Confused2

Dave, I have to hand it you. Your commitment to acquiring and shaving with the antiquities and rarities of wet shaving is impressive. You’re like the Roy Underhill of wet shaving. He’s that woodworker who would make a fine chest of drawers from an old stump using only a broad axe. Seriously, you could open a museum and the fact that you go further and employ those old razors in the manner for which they were made is fantastic. Keep it up.  Happy2

Mark, I appreciate the kind words! Truly I feel I'm just following the path of what others have blazed and benefiting from their experience such as Jeff jmudrick and many others that I can't think of all to name that I've read articles written on the forums as they experimented and found what works. It is a fun adventure though!

That brush looks regal, and like it would be very soft!

And did this razor come with original blades, that you can now sharpen?

This is my best SV brush I've ever had just surpassing the Bamboo one. No this did not and after using it today to compare with the RWNN Razor. The Clauss continues to hold the Title as the Most Aggressive razor in th den (Vintage or Modern) It may get dethroned by the Rolls when I use it but I don't know if it can. The Clauss is a sweet piece of history being probably the 1st Turn To Open TTO razor on the market but requires complete attention or she's a cruel mistress.

Nice razor. Love the etching on the blades. Does it have a blade holder to hone and strop the blades like some of the other early SE safety designs?Back then when something was marked “Fully Warranted” it meant something.
We made it to Friday.

Thanks, No stropping device. I acquired a device that can be used for all kinds of safety razor blades and have lapping film to use with it. We will see if it works out.
