Final Day - Day # 5 Ethos Rotation

Incredible shave with the still Reigning Champ of scents for me by Ethos............drum roll..............DRAGONSBEARD !! Video is uploading and is a 1st attempt at splicing 2 videos together as the Tablet took a Fuzzy Dive into the sink and I had to restart filming to include the final pass and back of neck shave. Hopefully they will splice together and I will add it when it does. Take care Everyone !!

Have a Karve set on loan from Danny and C used to be my daily so I started with it and had a drama free and smooth shave. I'll jump to the "E" Plate and give it a try tomorrow. The Baron's Choice Shave Soap is the next 1508.5 gifted to me by Rob ExtraProtein and hope he's well. It hails from Portugal and has a nice fresh clean scent that is rather enjoyable. It rinses clean and leaves the face feeling refreshed. If you can overlook the cheap plastic tub this is a great soap I would buy. Hope everyone has a great weekend !

So some years ago I had a Karve and the C was my daily driver plate. I was keeping fewer razors around and it didn't make the cut. Now I have on loan from Danny this set and the C was nice but my technique has vastly improved from the old days and the E today gave me such a nice smooth shave. Gonna try the D Open Comb tomorrow. I usually don't care for OC's but a few have been gems for me such as the RFB by Gillette so we shall see. The Delrin handle felt good in the hand which goes to show you a simple design can get the job done too. The knot was a little loose when cleaning the brush out so it may need to be reset soon if it breaks free. I want to try it some more. It's got sooooo much backbone that you have to be rough with it to get any splay which no doubt helped loosen it's setting. Some peppery goodness from Mr Burberry and I'm set for the day. Your comments about technique improving intrigue me. I experienced something similar, and it made me wonder 2 things: do others experience this or was it just the way I went about learning, and the other was should I go back and try again stuff I passed on?

For the first point, when I started, I was like a kid in a candy store. No matter how many times I read "stick with one set up and learn your technique," I ignored it and changed almost everything for almost every shave. I think I was a good 10 months in or so before I made myself keep things fixed for Four. Full. Days. It felt like an eternity, I kept wanting to change. Recently I revisited an item my early notes say I reacted poorly to, saying it irritated my skin. Said item today is fine, in fact, better than fine. I really like it. I think the irritation from those early days was a heavy hand on the razor and poor technique.

Which brings me to wonder about the second point, Do I go back and retry (which may mean re-buy) items? Right now, I say No. I am happy, very happy, with the tools I have. But who can tell? Some one may start singing the praises of a NEW Long Comb (one I never tried) and others chime in, and soon Lemming Eric is jumping off into another rabbit hole!

All that to say, I appreciated your post and it got me thinking!
