Thanks it's definitely a unique piece for sure. I wonder how many 3d printed razors Charcoal made. Anyone? I also notice 3d metal printing has improved in a short period of time when you compare it to the Blackland Era. [Image: ok0ipxa.jpg][Image: gV56fB9.jpg]

Dave,
Looking at the picture showing the polished and non-polished H plates especially the reduction of the scalloped on the polished plate. I have both H and EH plates (not polished) and the EH plate is totally smooth where the scalloped use to be.

Does anyone here know if this 3d printed charcoal goods razor is common or uncommon in the history of all charcoal razors? I feel like I bought this early in the short life of charcoal razors. I don't remember any machined razors available at that time just this 3d printed one in ur choice of metal. I believe  this was bronze. Any help to identify what I have would be appreciated.  Thanks
Z
Outstanding, You have one of the 3D printed razors! There are a few out in the wild, seen a few come and go on eBay and Etsy.  Brian did some really cool things with the 3D printer whilst it was up and running.  Stands, razors, odds and end top caps and other fun miscellaneous items. 3D printing was very new technology at THAT time.  I can’t speak for Brian, lol, however…. if he chimed in I think he might say he wasn’t 100% pleased with the outcome no matter how hard he tried.  Briefly… IMHO the difference in shaving with a Gen 1 or Gen 2 full production piece versus a 3D printed piece is apples and cantaloupes. When I hear the name “Charcoal Goods” I immediately think Machined, Brass, Copper, Stinger, Hammered, Magnum, Torpedo and of course the words Gen One!

3D printed is very uncommon to see and I have only seen it in stainless steel. Keep it, that’s definitely a fun piece of Charcoal Goods History.  Do you have other CG razors? If you do, give us a mini review of your 3D printed versus one of the machined production pieces, I would love to hear your review!

For 3D printing, a metal 420 SS/Bronze might be used. 60% stainless steel + 40% bronze. I believe this is why his razor is a different color than regular SS razors.

New Old Stock, Unused, Original Packaging.

Thank You for your time!

It’s in excellent shape.  Value 650-750 dollars is real.  Could you get more, maybe.  You shouldn’t have to consider less than 650.

I know a few fans here of this one.
I agree with that assessment. I think MANY people would exceed 750 in a bidding scenario because….. UNUSED NEW OLD STOCK, with receipt, original packaging, even the shipping package from Bullgoose with postal date is a rare acquisition for the discriminating buyer.  I have always purchased back ups of everything I REALLY like…not limited to razors. Over the years I’ve boasted this razor one of three BEST OF THE BEST SE and I hold firm on those 3.  Back into the vault, we ‘ll bring her back out at the 10 year anniversary….

Do you own more than 1? I remember after I received mine I wanted to buy a back up, but I changed my mind and never got another. I thought about it for days and kept adding it to my cart until they were sold out.

Here is where I differ from some.  I don't see the value in owning more than one of a razor, because no single razor has ever shaved so wonderful for me that I would be sad if I didn't have it.

I'm not a collector, I'm a user.  The best parallel I can draw, I wore mechanical watches for years.  When the Apple watch came out, I switched to a 300 dollar watch and sold off my collection of Swiss watches.

So you will see me buy and sell things often, because I just enjoy trying different razors and I'm not attached to any.

I get it, I'm the odd person out here, but I've never really fit in anyhow... on purpose... :-)
