Just saw a posting from Colonial Razors on Facebook that they have announced the Brass General V2.0 is in prototype form. Also, their DE prototype will be available in a few weeks. Here is a quick excerpt from the FB site...

Version 2.0 of The General:

-Machined only in the USA!
-Considerably sleeker than the original version!
-Brass prototype in hand!
-Amazing shaver!

Thought we'd give a teaser of what we've been working on behind the scenes. Still not ready to share pictures, as we have at least one more tweak left, which is mainly related to shortening up the length of the head a tad more.

We are also hoping to have our DE razor prototype in hand within the next few weeks. More to come on that at a later date.

I stopped buying razors after getting the original brass General but this is going to be super tempting.

Thanks for the info, i wasn't a fan of the Original, but sleeker sounds interesting.

Thank you for the mention GlazedBoker. Sadly we need to wait for a month before our USA shop is able to machine our next prototypes.

The razor head for this v2.0 General will be approximately 20-25% shorter in length than the original version. Our goal is to still maintain a clean and simple aesthetic for the entire razor, which will include a new handle design that has nice grip but contains no knurling.

Is this design only limited to brass razor or can we expect it to be extended to SS razor as well?

The focus at the moment is going to be offering it in brass, which will make us more unique from the rest of the market, which is solely stainless steel and aluminum.

Just received great news from our machinist in the USA. Our unique assembly concept for v2.0 is feasible from a machining perspective. Very excited about this and hoping to be able to share some pictures with you guys once we receive the official product and are ready for production.

That is great news. Does that translate into an earlier production run with sooner than expected retail availability?
