hawns will there be a matching Aftershave to go with Eau de Treget? The scent description sounds really nice to me, I think I’m going to like it! Also, will DeclarationGrooming be making a matching Icarus Soap? Thanks!

No and no (and if there is a follow-up question about a regular bison base, then that is also no). Since the scent is an adaptation of Delor de Treget, I would have to discontinue it to offer Eau de Treget as an aftershave, and then there would be one less option for people who want fragrances constructed from natural materials only.

I am, however, working on a promotion to give 1 oz Eau de Treget aftershaves (the same ones I gave out at the Maggard Meetup) with a certain number of people who purchase the EdT when it's released. I haven't talked with any retailers or anything (it will be going to Maggard Razors, Top of the Chain and West Coast Shaving), so I don't know what the logistics will be yet. Basically I just had the idea on Friday and started on making the aftershave this weekend.

I've been using the Eau de Treget a lot lately. My nose senses an amazingly soft, summer scent. I've also been using the Maggard Meetup aftershave sample, which is a dead ringer (to my unsophisticated yet appreciative nose) to the EdT. To me, it's distinctive enough from Delor de Treget to warrant its own product designation. A Delor de Treget "flanker," if you will. I'm the last guy on earth to tell you how to run your business, but I'll miss the Maggard juice when it's gone.

So will I.  It's great stuff.  While I love the scent, Shawn is supposed to be doing an unscented version of this aftershave splash which I am truly looking forward to because then I'll have the benefits of the aftershave ingredients yet still be able to use any eau de toilette I want. Big Grin

It's definitely something I've considered, but if I axed Delor de Treget, then Champs de Lavande and La Quatrième Ville would be my only all-natural fragrances. Doing both would just end up causing more work for probably about the same amount of sales (much like how TSM Fougère stock will be gathering dust while La Forêt de Liguest is in stock) so maybe at some point I will do a short run of Eau de Treget in aftershave, but probably not in the immediate future. Perhaps next year when it's more seasonally appropriate.

Not to mention that I've got my plate pretty full in the immediate future with getting ready for the releases of Skin Salves, La Forêt de Liguest, and Lamplight Penance, in addition to running a meetup in St. Louis in October, getting ready for a September appearance at a South STL festival, preparing for a launch and some tie-in promotions at Perfumariē in NYC, and perhaps heading out to the left coast for something that I'm not allowed to talk about yet. And the usual holiday season rush, too. Things are getting crazy, but in an awesome way Smile

That was basically a long way of saying not now, but maybe a LE run next year.

You bet! Just waiting for the completed skin salve labels so I can send an order to the label printer and then we'll get you all set up Smile

hawns I’m running dangerously low on my ‘Pure Lavender’ and ‘Clamorgan’ Aftershaves. Is there any chance of these making a comeback in the future? I really enjoy both of these scents and would also love it if you were able to do a collaboration with Declaration Grooming for a Soap/Splash combo. Thanks!

Definitely not going to do another run of Clamorgan, sorry. I can't really justify going back to the well on something that didn't go over that well the first time around.

I may do another run of Pure Lavender, but not until after Champs de Lavande is discontinued. Unfortunately the release schedule is pretty much tentatively all filled up for the rest of the year, but maybe in the spring (and I only say that very speculatively since that is so far in the future).

I'm sure it will pop up from time to time, but in order to streamline operations and not have a ton of resources tied up into inventory that doesn't move as quickly, the Provisions line is going to get pared down to Gratiot League Square, Unconditional Surrender, Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli, an upcoming (and more classical but with a twist) fougère named Weinstrasse, and 88 Chestnut Street in the spring and summer months. Then scents like Champs de Lavande, TSM Fougère, Delor de Treget, and others can pop up once in a while in one-run batches while allowing for more fun projects to pop up regularly.

Also in the news, on June 15 we are going to do the last run of the Summertime Chill products (Colbeck and Taum Sauk) for the foreseeable future and also discontinue TSM Fougère officially as a permanent fixture in the Provisions line, but we will be sending it off with one last run of TSM Fougère EdT. Plus there will be shea butter bath soap in both Yuzu/Rose/Patchouli and Gratiot League Square.

Additionally, anyone attending the Maggard Meetup can get an early opportunity to pick up some of that bath soap, as well as a free afteshave sample of our upcoming July release, Admiral, inspired by an art deco steamboat that used to patrol the banks of the Mississippi. It's a bright aquatic scent with a bit of smoke, like a sunny day on the deck of the Admiral. A bit of a snapshot of a great childhood memory of mine.
