Catalan's Prairie and La Forêt de Liguest were the only two to get the axe outside of the ill-fated Tea Tree Roborant. As a guy who lives in a 1 BR apartment in a city where the dining room, half the living room and the foyer have been taken over by Chatillon Lux, I really would like to discontinue more things, but I just can't bring myself to do it. In the case of Catalan's Prairie and the Tea Tree Roborant, they simply didn't sell at all, unfortunately, but at least everything in the line up pretty much proves its value now except Delor de Treget, but I don't want to axe that one yet.

I think if more people had tried the Tea Tree Roborant it wouldn't have been terminated. I picked up a few bottles before it was gone and i really like it. I gave a bottle to my 22 year old son and he likes it too. I think people think "Tea Tree? Yuck!" but it smells of other stuff too and is actually pretty nice and very soothing on the old face particularly in the winter. It was the product that I think most fit in to the Chatillon Lux old time branding imagery. Maybe if you'd called it "Soothing Roborant" or something like that without the words "tea tree" in the name it would have sold better.

At the same time, I don't know if having another product would be good considering how often I get emails from people who don't think there's a difference between the toners and the aftershaves and so they can't choose one. A few people, when I did explain to them the differences, told me it was all just "marketing" designed to sell more stuff.

Which ironically enough, if I had done a better job marketing, then I probably would have better explained the differences between the two.

I wasn't able to get the Catalan.. as usual.. lol. But that's alright.

Hey Shawn, I just received the Liguest aftershave, and man this smells wonderful. This must be my favorite out of the bunch! Too bad I missed out on the Toners and Salves. I can't wait for the Colonia btw. Big Grin

Happy New Year everyone!

Glad you enjoyed the LFdL! I'm sure I'll do another run again at some point once people begin to run out. Sorry you missed out on the Catalan's Prairie. It was up for 7+ hours, which was quicker than I thought it would go considering how bad sales were when it was out the first time around.

I would have liked to have tried the Tea Tree Roborant. I have a Stirling Tea Tree soap which I didn't initially like but has really grown on me. Maybe some day a Roborant will pop up on the B/S/T.

A small suggestion for the website hawns ; It would be cool if the name your scent on the "Reccomended Pairings" page linked to a product page that included a scent profile.

The only problem being that I would only be able to link it to one product, unfortunately, as the prepackaged storefront that I use isn't that sophisticated, so I didn't want to funnel a web visitor to a single product, just in case the visitor went to an aftershave when they would be more in the market for a salve, etc. I made an attempt at one point to have the scent notes pop up in a lightbox over the scent names, but couldn't figure it out in the CMS and gave up.

That's the bummer about not being a web developer. It makes it hard to build a website suited to your particular needs.

It is indeed a bummer.

Unrelated, was Colonia Balsamica discontinued? It is listed in the recommended pairings, but I did not see an aftershave or toner
