I purchased an SS L2 in July 2019 and still very much like it. How do I know if I have a gen2 or gen3? The item number for the base plate is 33331 and the top cap is 33332.

New gen3 lv3 is an excellent razor. Still love gen1.
Gen3 has noticeably less blade feel, and easier to use.
Gen1 requires some attention, whereas you can auto-pilot Gen3.
They are really different razors, but both Lv3s are great.

The Gen 3 has you load the blade on the baseplate, Gen 1&2 load the blade on the top plate.

As far as I know the Gen 3 only went up for purchasing recently, like within the last week or two.

I have always wanted to buy a CG razor. I particularly thought the older antiqued finishes looked awesome but I had also heard about blade feel which gave me pause. Then he stopped production so that was that but now we have the new model. That said, I think the new model isn't as nice looking as the old version. Does anyone know if he will do the antique finishes again? Maybe I will like it's looks better.

I just antiqued my Everyday Razor and will do my Level 2 and 3 shortly.

Looks great, Clint. Can you detail your process? I have a brass Blackbird I’m thinking of antiquing. Also, what’s the best way to clean up the patina beforehand? Thanks
