Guys I used my SS CG Lv3  this morning about 1:30 a.m. when I had to get up
First use feather in it with some grooming Department donkey milk soap, such a great shave I don't know why I look any farther. Fantastic shave with a fantastic razor!

I am torn wether I like the hammered or magnum handle more. The weight of the Magnum is lovely, but I like the nimbleness of the smaller hammered too. Will be tough picking and SS handle.

I find the audio feedback on the Gen 1 plate quite pleasant, both Gens feel very very similar though.

What I've discovered, as far as CG handles are concerned, is the 3 1/2" length is my preference. I loved the hammered, but sold the 3", and was reluctant to go for the magnum, because I thought it was too thick and heavy (looking at the stats on the CG website)

I bit the bullet and ordered one in brass ... and it is AWESOME !

For me the magnum and Bishop Variant are the CG handles of choice now.

BTW, speaking slippery handles (in the Wolfman thread) ... here is what I did with the Bishop Variant to 'tune it in' to my preference ;

Consider getting the maze handle. Similar dimensions to the hammered but it surprisingly gives a better grip.

I've got maze, hammered and helix handles for my three L3 baseplates. All in the 3" version. Love them all.

That's a unique looking Bishop variant handle, well done!

I love my L2 Charcoal goods razor in stainless steel. I used it this morning and am always pleased with the shave. It might be my favorite razor (it's hard to chose and it's in direct competition with some other amazing razors). I want to get one of the stinger handles in stainless. Keep hoping they'll become available again.

me too, although I’ve heard the stinger in stainless is really rough on his tools.

I decided I can always pick up a Stinger later and nabbed a vertigo in SS today.

Yeah. Mine came with the Bishop handle. Which I like, I just love the look of the stinger.

Well I'm serving up a bit of crow to eat this morning.

I've posted numerous times that I find the Lv2 too mild a shaver to have in the den. My first was an SB in brass and I just couldn't get an efficient shave out of it like I do with a Lv3. I picked up another Lv2 SB off ebay because I wanted the gen 2 Maze handle.

I put both of those base plates up on the BST and sold them eventually. Meanwhile I added a Lv2 OC to my assortment and found it was efficient. Not long after that I added a brass DC Lv2 (I don't know why myself) I got some good shaves out of the SB side, but still not up to snuff for me.

A month or so ago I purchased a Lv3 SS SB, my first SS Charcoal Goods. I know Brian Twilley says that all the metals shave the same, but I beg to differ. Unless it is my imagination this SS SB shaves better than my brass Lv3 SB or OC. Not by much, but it does.

This got me thinking (always risky for me) and I wondered if I'd find a SS Lv2 SB better than the brass I'd never liked. So I scored one in the BST with the magnum handle that has become my favorite CG handle.

I don't know how the Lv2 SS SB would be with more than a day's growth, but for a daily shaver it is kick ass. I've been shaving with it for the past week or so, Feather, Polisilver, Astra, average of 3 shaves out of each blade (normal for me) and it delivers the goods.

So I take back all the bad things I said about the Lv2.  Angel
