I thought Tatara heads needed a Tatara handle or at least were designed specifically for the complete razor set?

Carbon Shaving has been around 3 months and has 1 head and 3 handle options (must be purchased together).
Tatara has been around almost 2 years and has some nice color options, OC option, handle only option, base and matching brush.

Nodachi does not require the Tatara handle.

+1 The main reason I haven't considered buying this razor is because you are required to buy it as a complete razor. Seeing as I don't like the design of the handle, I can't justifying spending that kind of money when there are less expensive options that allow buying just a razor head.

I really wish more razor makers would allow purchase of just the head of a razor. Makes things a lot easier to obtain.

I thought I'd done a pretty extensive internet search and have found neither Seygus or Tatara sell a top cap and base plate only option so why use those as an example for wanting Carbon to do so? Am I missing something here? That being said the real question here is, would you still be willing to purchase the Carbon top cap and base plate at $200-$225 range, as I'm sure all you will save on the handle is about $30-40 at best? I don't think the savings is worth them offering just the top cap and base plate only as $200+ would scare off even more buyers imo!!

Both Seygus and Tatara offer heads only. That's how I purchased both of them. I could have mentioned others who do as well -- Timeless , ATT etc , but I mentioned Seygus and Tatara as more comparable recent entrants like Carbon.

Where did you purchase your head only options? I looked for quite a while and couldn't find that option available anywhere. I did find the option of an additional base plate for the Tatara razor on their site though, but not a complete head, top cap and base plate option only...

I have purchased some Blackland razor pieces by themselves before.

I bought both direct from the manufacturer.

I'm fully aware that you can purchase Timeless, AT&T, Blackland, and a few others although as I'd pointed out above I can't seem to find where they sell complete head assy only for Tatara and Seygus that doesn't really make any difference though... My question still stands though in that would most people still be willing to buy just the complete head assy for $30-40 less if the option were available? I would tend to think not just looking at previous comments on the overall razor itself, but that is just my opinion though... I could certainly be wrong here and it wouldn't be the first time I was wrong in my 58yrs!!

Both manufacturers post on social media and respond to direct email inquiries. I ordered heads after reading on forums and Facebook others had done so. Nothing mysterious here.
