I used the Cx razor for my shaves last week. My impressions are as follows:

The packaging is fine but doesn't really do anything for me. I don't think I would really appreciate buying a razor and having it come in a burlap sack in a cardboard tube. I agree with the other posters that the finish is better in person than in the pictures. The finish is fine and never something you would think about---other than when you're first purchasing it. But I do agree that the price point commands a flawless finish. The finish is fine for a $50 RazoRock razor or even a $150 razor... but at $250, there really needs to be something special.

The same goes for the handle. The handle reminds me of a $30 Weber handle. The knurling is very sharp, but that's probably the only good thing about the handle design to me. I've never been a fan of handles that force you to hold it in only a limited number of locations. After you pick up the razor, you always have to shift your grip to either be on the knurled bit or the smooth bit.. but nothing in between. Again, at this price point, you really come to expect a premium handle... and this one is not. I'd want to see a handle that rivals Wolfman, Charcoal Goods, UFO, Triad, etc.

The razor assembles well and is easy to use. As other posters have already mentioned, the razor is fairly blade-forward/aggressive. However, I'm not a fan of aggressive razors since I have sensitive skin. Overall, I found the razor a bit too blade forward and harsh for daily use. For reference, my current lineup of favorite razors include the PILS, Tradere SB, Wolfman WR-1 (stock gap), and Tatara Masamune SB (this one is probably a tiny bit too mild for me). I used a Polsilver SI blade for this test, which is my go-to blade, especially when trying new razors. Unfortunately, this razor is not for me since I like mild to medium razors that can be used daily without a chance of irritation. However, I know there are plenty of people (on this forum especially), who are looking for blade-forward razors.. so this may be a good fit for others.

Thanks to Carbon Shaving and DFS for running the passaround. The east coast razor has been shipped and should be delivered to the next recipient (MarsEnglish) on Wednesday.

East coast razor arrived this evening.

Looking forward to my first shave in the morning.

I’ll post some thoughts after my first couple shaves & again at the end of my rotation. I’ll get the razor back in the mail by the middle of next week.

The razor is much nicer in person than i expected from the pics I’ve seen. Build quality is also apparent - it feels very good in the hand - fit and finish is nice.

Just two shaves in - immediately the audible feedback was pronounced - this razor screams!! Possibly the most audible razor I’ve used. Very efficient without being harsh - shaving angle is reminiscent to the Paradigm Ti2 - feels just as comfortable while possibly being more efficient. Surprisingly the handle took no real adjusting. I haven’t really noticed it at all during the shave.

Looking forward to a few more great shaves b4 sending it on its way to the next member. I’ll check back in a few days with follow up comments.

Late to the party but what struck me was the verbiage of the costs to produce. It sounds exactly like how one would speak as if a item is outsourced. Outsourcing small runs always costs more due to the set up and tooling of a CNC. If they cut chips for a long time the set up fees are offset and pricing comes down.

Package was dropped off at the post office - should arrive by Friday for the next member.

I’ll provide some final thoughts later tonight.

Want to apologize in the delay in getting the West Coast razor sent to the next member on the list. I've been stuck in Jury Duty this week and just haven't gotten to the post office. Razor is cleaned, disinfected and should get sent out tomorrow. I will post my thoughts on the razor as soon as I get a chance but they are very good thoughts as I really loved the Cx!

My apologies for the delay in writing my final thoughts - life distracted me & I didn’t realize I hadn’t updated the thread.

This razor was a real pleasure to use. Significantly better than I had expected it to be. Every shave was at or nearly BBS.

I found the build quality to be right up there with the elite makers - and never found the handle to be a distraction.

The razor was certainly efficient while never feeling overly aggressive but I did feel the need to use a different razor after 2 straight shaves w the Carbon. Just to allow the hair to grow back a little more by using a less efficient razor. If you don’t shave daily the Carbon may be perfect for u bcs of how long the BBS lasts.

Overall I’m impressed - thank you for doing this passaround & allowing me to participate.
