andrewjs18 -- As the passaround razors are currently in the Lowcountry of SC and I will be moving them along early next week, can Eleven be bumped up and we do a get together before sending via USPS? If that is too great a breach of protocol, not problem. Just thought I would ask.

as long as MountainBear is ok with that, sure.

maybe Eleven can throw in a soap and aftershave in the box for people to use?  Big Grin

That sounds like a deal to me! Done!   Cool

Carbon Cx Ti ++

The Ti ++ hits my sweet spot. My go-to DE head shaving razor is the Henson medium; vintage Schick injectors are a close second on the dome. I very much prefer high efficiency and lighter weight when shaving the solar panel. The Carbon Ti ++ is an ideal light weight. The increase in efficiency is right where I like it, and the feel is super smooth; absolutely no harshness. Gave great results on face shave as well.

I would like to give the ++ plate one more run on Saturday morning, and will make arrangements to hand it off to Eleven as soon as is practical.

My Final Thoughts

My final shave was with both ++ plates, SS on the face, Ti on the dome. The razors are a joy to behold and a joy to use. They are very comfortable in the hand, well balanced, and the most "aggressive" ++ provided me with a comfortable shaving experience. There is a low level of blade feel that I enjoy, but not at all menacing. The Ti is very lightweight, and is probably my overall preferred razor. The web plates are visually stunning, and the reduced weight is a great benefit to the 316L. I am coming up short on "constructive criticism." I honestly did not encounter anything negative or issues that require addressing.

I met with Paolo Eleven earlier today to pass on the razors. I am very much looking forward to trying his Barbershop soap. To Paolo and the others on the pass-around, I believe you are in for a treat.

Thank you very much CarbonShavingCo. and andrewjs18 for the opportunity to experience the Cx razors. It has been a great pleasure.

Here's a quick few tips/rules for the pass around. Please try to be mindful of the creator of the razor and everyone on the pass around list. If you're going to be out of town just before or during your turn, just ask us to bump you down on the list so you can have the proper time to use it and so you also do not hold up others from trying the razor(s) in a timely manner.

As this pass around includes more than 1 razor, let's agree to keep it for 10-14 days before passing it on so people have adequate time to use and judge everything.

List:

First and foremost, I want to thank everyone for letting me cut the line!  I’ve put a soap and balm in the box for you all to (hopefully) enjoy! I greatly appreciate it!

Onto the razors...

These are even better looking in person!  I LOVE the web base plate design. It makes rinsing between passes the easiest of any razor I’ve used.

As I prefer light razors, the titanium is utterly fantastic, weight-wise.  I like the look of the stainless handle better, and if it came in titanium (not sure if so), that would be ideal for me.

What I do NOT prefer, however, is blade feel.  I always end up with the mildest and least aggressive as favorites and most used.

That said, these are also the most comfortable razors I’ve experienced that have a positive blade feel.  The titanium is ++ and wasn’t uncomfortable in the slightest.  I just couldn’t be lazy since I normally use much “easier” razors.

For the stainless, I (unsurprisingly) prefer the - plate.  It was the most aligned with how I normally shave.  The “standard” gap plate was also quite smooth, but the - plate is the winner for me.

I really can’t find any faults with these.  My personal disdain for blade feel wasn’t even a real issue!  These are magnificently built, ridiculously good looking, and effortless to shave with!  Nothing but positives in every category!  Well done Carbon Shaving Co!!

They are on their way to MountainBear as we speak.

Thanks you Eleven /Paolo and ewk , appreciate you giving us a try and thanks for the feedback.

The designs of our different base plates are a little unconventional, for example our mild plate has a larger gap than the Original yet a much milder feel. During prototyping, blade exposure was a big variable in the shave feel and our exploration(Thank you to the testers!), we went through many combinations. Today we communicate the differences between the plates on our site as follows:

All base plates have positive blade exposure

Original Base Plate -  This was our first design configuration, what makes this plate unique is the added blade exposure. It’s still my personal favorite and has a .68mm with positive blade exposure. This design offers a lot of user control with the positive blade exposure. For a milder shave, you can change the angle or “ride the cap” for sensitive parts like the neck. For other areas, you can still have a good amount of efficiency.

- Base Plate -  This is our newest base plate. If you have sensitive skin, prefer less blade feel, have fine hair or just enjoy a mild shave, this is the one. Head shavers have enjoyed this one. This plate has our least blade exposure and a .71mm, our smallest blade gap.

+ Base Plate -  We reduced the blade exposure from the original but increased the gap to .88mm. This is a nice option if you prefer less blade feel, yet still enjoy a higher efficiency in a razor. This plate is also a nice option if you only shave every 2-3 days...

++ Base Plate -  This one is for those who like a very efficient option. This plate is still with positive blade exposure, but has less exposure than the + Base Plate. This razor has a larger 1.08mm gap. If you have thick hair and shave every 4-5 days or just like an efficient razor, this would be the one.

We refine the language constantly based on our customer feedback and what works for them. As you try the different plates any thoughts or feedback on how they feel different and your preference would be greatly appreciated and welcomed...not all our customers have tried all 4 plates, so the feedback would be unique.

Thank you again for your thoughts and insight...really appreciate you trying out the Cx, your comments and your support.

andrewjs18 is it ok if I get bumped down a spot? I'm supposed to get the "Le Maurice" passaround next week.
