BUY THIS SOAP!!!!

I know what you mean. I knew about the soap before that review because The Handlebar Supply carries it, however, it's sold out at present.

My site inventory counter goes into "UH OH!" mode when a product is almost out of stock to help prevent overselling- Having said that I do still have a few jars of it available that I just added this morning.

I bought it from THBS. A good soap, not 'great'. I think the asking price is fair since it's a very hard soap and something I'm glad to have tried, but not a must keep.

Lather is dense and thick. Slickness is medium/low. Decent water tolerance. Scent's light citrus floral? Post shave is very good, however. I haven't gotten a chance to really dial it in, however so take my initial impressions with some salt.

Gripes: It takes a bit longer then normal to load due to it's hardness/density. It initially comes with a deep impression of a honeycomb, while a neat point, i found that it over-aerates the soap and it becomes foamy when loading; I had to crush down the impression to make it more manageable.

I concur with glory on all he has stated except it was easy for me load. I purchased the soap for $16. 3 - 4 months ago at Merz in Chicago. I have used the soap half dozen times. My experience (only my opinion) that it is a good soap but for me not as good as other soaps like M&B, Strop shoppe, caties bubbles, Mikes, MWF, etc

Everything is always a case of YMMV. I agree with you that the soap does have a light scent but I had no problem making a creamy lather from the get go with a synthetic or a silver tip. Everybody has different techniques and also different type of water so this definitely adds into the equation. I found my slickness to be excellent. Just to be clear I'm not getting a penny or anything free from this I'm sharing from my heart

After watching the video, I think I can add even more water to make it slicker and more creamy.

I know the soap is water tolerant but I never really got a chance to dial it in. It seems to me that this may be another water happy soap ala BM original formula.

I will test and report back.... after monday.

Yes add water can definitely take it and the lather will explode

Will any of the artisans be around in 6 months?  Maybe yes, mabye no.  It is not worth worrying about.  The same holds true for products from larger, more established vendors.  Case in point: L'Occitane Cade shaving soap being discontinued.  That is no reason to avoid buying highly regarded products.
