I'd like to see some lather shots to see what type of consistency it can produce.

Are there any reviews or pics from a paying customer? The blog post, then the thread claiming "buy this soap" (that no one has heard of) is all a little too timely for me, to not have a bunch of red flags go up.

I know what you mean. I knew about the soap before that review because The Handlebar Supply carries it, however, it's sold out at present.

Myself, I'd be more inclined to give an honest review if I got it for free. Some people might post a more positive review if they bought it to justify spending $18 on a soap. Just my 2 cents...

I just searched on YouTube and found several reviews of Sweet Comb Chicago. I haven't had time to watch them all but Stay Smooth Shaving seems to like it a lot. He had no problem lathering it and the lather looked great, just like when Donald reviewed it.

I tried some of this recently. Good performance but the scent was a little light.

Wow! I didn't know Whole Foods carried any shaving soaps but I heard they might start carrying PAA's Crown King line. I wonder if all Whole Foods carry it. Guess I will check ours this weekend.

Whereas I see it the opposite. If people see bloggers praising products and giving positive feedback....they are more likely to get more free products from other artisans.

If I pay $20 of my own personal money, I am way more likely to be critical if it didn't meet my expectations.

We just see it differently, that's all. Hopefully the soap lives up to the praise if people buy it.

rawfox1 Had you shaved with this soap at the time of your post? You indicated test lathering it, but made no mention of actually shaving with it. Glide, Slickness, cushion, stability, post shave feel are all things that a test lather can't determine.

I had to go by WF for food today anyway and just got back. I did not find this product there, but I did find the entire line of Thayers witch hazel.
