While you're waiting to try this one, it's worth grabbing a vintage injector from eBay (maybe a Schick E-2, G, or really most of the models beyond that), as they're not expensive and the blades are still made and easy to get. If you're like me (coarse whiskers here too), you'll likely enjoy it a bunch. And then you'll start thinking about SE razors generally, realize how great those thick blades are for coarse whiskers, and ... it begins ...

I grabbed an E-2 type first (it's one of the ones with the cool Bakelite handle, and is considered a bit more aggressive). Then I added a nice-condition I-2 "Hydromagic" which has a flip lever allowing you to open the head for a thorough rinse without displacing the blade. That's not an essential feature, though it's nice, but I like the shaves with the I-2 just as much; in fact they're probably a bit smoother for me.

I'm using new Schick blades (the kind made in China). Bought a bunch from Amazon, but you can get them from Drugstore.com, Walgreens online, etc., and apparently some physical drug stores have them. There are also Personna injector blades (the upcoming Supply Single Edge razor ships with these) but I haven't tried them yet.

Cool! Looks like I'll be checking out the I-2 first. I've been getting into more aggressive razors lately. I've checked local stores in my area and have yet to see injector blades, so looks like Amazon is my best bet. This helps clear up some of the confusion I had regarding injector razors. Thank you!

I know you are into trying everything out and being a "connoisseur" of this hobby. Anyhow, I think you owe it to yourself to try and find personna injector 74 blades. They are without doubt the smoothest,longest lasting blades ever made of any kind. IMO. I can get 20-25 smooth shaves from one in any injector I use. They are expensive but well worth the cash. I also enjoy your posts,they are very informative.

Great tip, beisler, thanks! I've heard about some of those excellent NOS blades, but hadn't tracked any down yet. Definitely curious to try them. And you're right, my curiosity in this hobby seems boundless. But hey, I'm not alone in that, at least.
