Me watching the show from the sides with my $8 Yaqi head...

In seriousness, it's no good that this happened. But, it's funny that this type of thing happens so frequently.

Not sure if top cap or something even or uneven, hard for me to tell, tried to make photos as best as i could, let me know your opinion pls.

My too favorite razors are: Colonial General v2 (both face and head) and standard razor (only face) and for head usually i use colonial silversmith (hate it for face shave, but doing good in head shaves...)

Aesthetically and balance i would change handle, head seems to be of regular size and weight, so i would prefer something 90-92mm or 3.5inch long, like razorock  superknurl handle or like that.
Also due to polishing handle feels slippery, dont think you drop it unless its soapy, but it surely doesnt help with maneuverability. Non the less its a comfortable tool to use during shaving.

Shave wise: literally zero blade feel, concidering machining error before  - it wasnt pleasnt surprise at first, but after hearing and seeing stubble being removed felt a lot better)
I used Astra SP for first shave and i kinda understood only by the end that it will shave properly only when riding top cap, otherwise it wont be even near DFS, it wasnt obvious because no feedback acquired due to lack of any blade feel. And while it goes really smooth ATG pass it, lack of blade feel kinda tempting you to press harder and that would be a big mistake - it wont shave any closer but will give you skin burn.
Need to test more and see, definitely feather blade next time. But it was kinda ok for head shave, didnt need to buff same spots as much as with standard razor, so efficiency should be alright when i figure it out with blade and angle.

Found it quite difficult trying to assess what is the issue with all the images combined (not your fault - as images taken can convey a potential issue that does not exist), but a number of them seem to show the top cap on at least one cutting edge/long side has not been machined at right angles to the short side, or it has been machines skewed (not west to east but more like WSW to ENE) . Surely polishing of the cap would not take away so much material as to leave the inconsistent gap to the base & blade shown here?

Are you able to take width measurements of the short sides (narrow ends) of the top cap, & also the base (may be issue here as well)? Do you have a right angle ruler or equivalent to see how square the long side to short side is? Even placing a ruler along the long side edge of the top cap should show you something.

It does appear that this razor has some measurement (quality) issues & think that this is an unacceptable product deserving either a full refund or replacement with a properly executed item.

looks like sizes on all sides are similar, but because its hard to make picture with proper angle and no reflection i did a video on which you can clearly see that one side of a cap  have a wave which covers blade uneven.

full hd gonna be rendered soon (open in new window)

This video provides a decent look at what I believe (in theory and just my opinion as it is based solely on pure speculation) to have potentially occurred.

1. Manual operation on multiple work stations where a transfer of each phase of the work being done was established. Each set up was based on a manual correction of measurements for each stage in roughing and finishing. Also potentially inconsistent mill ends speeds for proper chip clearing or just not the right mill tool for the process for each particular stage. Also, tool holders or jigs could have been set up in not the best stable or secure fashion. Again, just speculation.

2. If done on a full CNC machine either 3+2 or full axis equipment, improper commands in the program or conflicting commands can also be the culprit. On CNC controlled equipment, the operator has to assume no assumptions in entering specific coordinates into the controller/program. One starts from scratch in establishing cutting paths for the tool to follow. You have G-code and you have M-code. G-codes direct the machines motion & function while M-codes foresee operations outside of movement. G activates the machine and M activates the PLC (programmable logic controller). In essence, if the plc has not been cleared of any previous coordinates of cutting pathways/solutions, there can be a confusion with those commands as an existing previous set up can interfere with a current entry program or cutting order. Also,,, a default setting may be involved as well and if the user has not made clear commands via the plc interphase, the CNC machine will struggle to figure out which comman(s) to follow properly.

As I said, this is all speculation and just offers a potential answer to what could have happened. Personally I can’t say definitively as I was not there. Pinpointing a possible cause is close to nearly impossible but, those are my thoughts on it. Good luck to those that purchased the razor and may it all end up being resolved positively for all….

This razor is a hot mess.
The manual polishing looks to be ruining any straight edges and right angles.
They should just bead blast it.

They should be cast to ingot. Then cast to sea.
