Blooming! your veiws please

I only bloomed soaps that I've purchased more than 1 year ago, just to loosen the top for easier loading.

For brand new soaps, I don't.

How long does water have to be sitting on top of the surface of the product to be considered blooming?

I don’t know if there’s a standard but when I did it I would put the tub under the tap, wet it and pour off any water remaining then let it sit for as long as it took to shower.

When most people say 'bloom' what they really mean is soak. CaD314 has done some videos on the subject...
