Shane Blackland Razors, when I drop a blade into my Blackbird, I just tighten it all together and shave. The blade(various brands tested) lines up perfectly every time. I quit checking the blade alignment, because the tolerances are that tight and checking became unnecessary. Can we expect the same thing from the Dart?

It would be nice if someone (with deep pockets) could compare it with one of the aluminum Above the Tie 'Calypso' razors (with R1,R2,H1,H2,S1,SE1 base plates), the brass Karve 'Christopher Bradley' razor (with D-E-F base plates), the bronze Timeless 0.78 open comb razor, the aluminum Mongoose 'Alumigoose', but (perhaps) the real showdown might be with the $50-$55 stainless steel RazoRock 0.9 'Game Changer' razor (that should come to market before the end of the year), which beats you on price, is also stainless steel (unlike the other razors), is polished and comes in a variety of handle options.   Though, who knows how it shaves....   (and how could I forget the stainless steel Rockwell 6S and RazoRock Wunderbar?)

At least you'll beat the RazoRock option to market, but (given the reviews I've seen) it seems the stainless steel Dart is an excellent option for those who can't afford (or justify) a premium safety razor.     At least GroomingDept (and a few others) have compared the Dart favorably with the premium Paradigm 17-4 razor.

I will be getting a Karve CB razor (with E-F plates), so i may be able to make a comparison....

Any chance Blackland razors will offer different handle options (that will work with any razor)?    I'd love to see something like the Stork 'Consul' handle (which balances design with grip), but that's decidedly outside of your minimalist handle designs.

Ohio == USA Big Grin

Hope to pick up one!

Hmmm. I see how that can be confusing. I’ll change it to read “and”. Thanks for pointing that out!

Pretty much. I’ve had no issues whatsoever thus far, but blade tabs are a bit better than blade posts. Having the blade contact more of the tab means that slight within-spec geometry differences don’t really affect the alignment. Posts are more prone to that because they only touch the blade in two spots. Still, we’re talking incredibly small differences here and the net real world effect is that you shouldn’t have any alignment trouble.

I ordered from the road when it went on sale. Noon seemed like a good time to fill the tank, check the oil, and buy a razor .....

I do my best shopping from a barstool. In fact, I plan to find a barstool later today. And I expect I'll buy a Dart while sitting there, unless they're sold out before then. Sitting here, I'm convinced I don't need one, but the world changes while on the barstool...
