Blackland DART

The reviews are great, but I’m not entirely sure I understand why every reviewer has so far compared the Blackbird and the Dart. I’d be interested in a more apt comparison between razors at and around the same price point.

It would be nice if someone (with deep pockets) could compare it with one of the aluminum Above the Tie 'Calypso' razors (with R1,R2,H1,H2,S1,SE1 base plates), the brass Karve 'Christopher Bradley' razor (with D-E-F base plates), the bronze Timeless 0.78 open comb razor, the aluminum Mongoose 'Alumigoose', but (perhaps) the real showdown might be with the $50-$55 stainless steel RazoRock 0.9 'Game Changer' razor (that should come to market before the end of the year), which beats you on price, is also stainless steel (unlike the other razors), is polished and comes in a variety of handle options.   Though, who knows how it shaves....   (and how could I forget the stainless steel Rockwell 6S?)

At least you'll beat the RazoRock option to market, but (given the reviews I've seen) it seems the stainless steel Dart is an excellent option for those who can't afford (or justify) a premium safety razor.     At least GroomingDept (and a few others) have compared the Dart favorably with the premium Paradigm 17-4 razor.

I will be getting a Karve CB razor (with E-F plates), so i may be able to make a comparison....

Any chance Blackland razors will offer different handle options (that will work with any razor)?    I'd love to see something like the Stork 'Consul' handle (which balances design with grip), but that's decidedly outside of your minimalist handle designs.

Deep pockets? Ha. I do have the razor and it's next on the list. I was gone on vacation for a week so I've been using my Karve. I didn't want to risk losing any of your stuff.

I assume it wasn't clear that RazoRock was going to offer a separate 0.9 mm base plate for the Game Changer when you sold yours.    I'm hoping RazoRock offers a 0.9 mm Game Changer razor for $50-$55 (without a need to already have the razor with the 0.68 mm base plate, which I wouldn't use often).

gap and numbers mean little to me. I sold my Game Changer because there was more blade feel than the Mamba without being more efficient. To me, if a razor is so smooth that I have to continually check to see if it is really cutting whiskers or just clearing lather and in the end I have a two pass BBS, then that is a good razor. Feeling or hearing the blade do it's work does not impress me, especially if it doesn't.

Shane posted on the Blackland Instagram site that they should be receiving the razors soon and start the q/c process and have them packaged and ready to go. He said he'll be notifying those on the notification list very soon....
