How was the shave?

I’ve not tried it, however, mixing metals isn’t usually a good idea because of galvanic corrosion. It’s chemistry.

Ok, here is what I do.  I use a M5 nylon washer with an 8mm OD, which fits perfectly into the base plate.  If you take the razor apart after each shave and rinse clean, dry with microfiber cloth, don’t see much here that can go bad. 

Think about how many people leave a SS blade in a Ti razor for weeks… 

Really worried?  Drop of oil on threads occasionally.

Thats good advice although the take apart and clean/rinse/dry advice will fall on deaf ears for roughly half the shavers - we did a poll.  As evidence that it can happen, check out this page at one of our member's journal thread.  To be clear, that is not a Blackbird Razor that shows the corrosion.  The corrosion can happen fast given that you are immersing the metals in water and various salts in the soaps.  It's like a science experiment.

As shown in this Blackland video https://youtu.be/Fn7YztAzO3A , even if you don't fully disassemble and dry the razor parts, you can at least loosen it. I find this SAVES time over leaving it tight, because it is easier to get all the gunk rinsed out. I leave it loose to air-dry, and tighten it again for the next shave.

Titanium has a different corrosion potential from both stainless and brass, so galvanic corrosion is a possibility. Even if the razor is all titanium though, the blades are stainless (though possibly plated with yet another metal). Loosening and air drying should go a long way toward reducing/preventing corrosion.

The slowest-drying area will probably be the threads. However, if the cap (post) and handle are the same metal, there should not be any galvanic corrosion between them.

I go a bit further with a drop of Dawn dish soap but hey, I know how OCD I am.

My OCD manifests (OK, one of the ways ...) as not allowing anything but my face to touch the fragile blade edge until it goes in the blade bank. I am pretty thorough with cleaning it in HOT water until the last trace of residue is gone though, and air drying it loose as I said.

Bottom line-combining different razor parts that are made from different metals can be an interesting and effective way to modify and/or improve your shaving experience but be aware of possible negative consequences and take precautions in order to protect your investment. Blackbird Razors are an investment worth protecting. If you think that disassembling/rinsing/drying your razor after every use is OCD, think about it- look at how you shave compared to the average man. You’re already well along the OCD path    Resistance is futile. Go the next step.
