Is a black ti BB possible from a technical perspective?

Awesome to hear! Yea there are a few ways to get black for titanium, but I don’t think anodizing is on that list. We’ll be exploring more finishes into next year.

Blackland Razors Shane, will we ever get a copper bird?
I can't even begin to imagine how beautiful a copper blackbird would be.

Some sort of copper alloy seems possible/likely as a limited run eventually. I’d be surprised if it would be a permanent edition. To be clear, no current active plans for this.

Shane.

Is a Ti long B-bird handle within the realm of possibility ?

You're better acquainted with the marketability than I am, but I'd wager at least a limited run would be worth the doing.

Going by my two Wolfman Bronze I'd prefer that metal to brass or copper.

I actually prefer the face feel to any other metal. YMMV.

This is less likely, but still possible of course. Nobody buys the long handle. And I suspect it will be similar to the Ti OC - lots of noise asking for it and then crickets once available.

Two thoughts on this topic.

I bet a dual comb would sell extremely well, yes the open comb is probably not ideal for the BB Ti.

A handle between 3.5 to 3.75 inches would be just awesome (90-95mm) on the bird.  I understand the head has a lot of weight (even in Ti) compared to the handle so the center of mass would create quite a lever in a long handle.  However, most people who shave a lot passionately tend to a 90-95mm handle.

Appreciate the feedback. You can also drop these suggestions into the Suggestion Box in the footer of our site. It has a greater chance of impacting our production plans if it’s there.

I can say that dual comb is probably out and unless there’s overwhelming feedback, we also won’t make another length Blackbird handle. The Standard length is pretty ideal. I’d go even shorter if I could, but that didn’t sell as well.

I don’t think we’ll see any dimensional Blackbird changes for quite a while. Finishes and materials will come, but the substantive part probably will be set for at least 2023.

Shane ... you calling me 'nobody' ? I always spoke well of you ...  Rolleyes  One thing I love about Wolfman, and the earlier production of Charcoal Goods ... plenty of handle variations to choose from. Of course those guys roll their own, and don't farm the machine work out, so it may be less of a cost factor to experiment. Anyway ... somebody bought at least two of your long handles and happy to have them. EDIT, what dtownvino said ! A 90mm would be even better than the 100mm.

Relatively speaking a 90mm handle, which is not a big change on a CAD drawing or in production to run longer pieces on a CNC for your ICC (ideal client criteria).  I define your ICC as people who do and will spend 320-350 USD on a razor, not return it, is a member of one or more of the main shaving websites, has an annual budget of more than 1000 dollars on shaving, and has been wet shaving longer than 6 months and strongly identifies as a community member by liking or posting at least 2x per month. I will almost guarantee a mathematical model that supports a 3.5-3.6 inch handle for this customer (I am a Mathematician and I’ve actually put this into a distribution curve with a density curve using regression one bored Sunday when I had COVID for Ti razors). Your packaging already accommodates it so it could come down to the bead blasting process as well as the stand if it can handle the longer handle.

Long and the short of it, I’ve owned 3 Ti Birds.  I’ve sold one and have 2.  Still wish I had my machined finish… but the real truth of it is just this.  I’ve went 3-4 months not using it, then I pull it out and get a superb 2 pass shave…

It is like…
