He'll make them as long as they are selling, Clint. Post #46 or there abouts my friend....

Thank you Gus. I’m guilty of not reading the entire thread. It’s been one of those days.

That’s correct. I hope and expect to offer them permanently, but it’s contingent on somebody buying them.

It'd be nice if we could get both base plates.

That could happen in the future. This run is all about keeping things simple while we determine actual demand. Multiple base plates really complicates things like serial numbers, order quantities, royalties, etc.

Whisk-her Away About 2 months ago I tried the original first generation OC Tradere and noted my observations in post #270 and there were several interesting opinions you can check out there and throughout this entire thread. In short the original Tradere OC was an exciting release for its time but did not yield as smooth, efficient or comfortable shave as a Timeless 95 for me but resembled a heavy partially polished version of a Gillette vintage NEW Long (open) Comb. Not everyone agreed with me and this upcoming release is from Blackland so a comparison can’t be made until some reviews come out. It should be interesting and best of luck Blackland.

Will a satin finish appear down the road?

It would be great if someone could describe the shaving characteristics of each gen in relation to some of the other popular modern razors. Like, “I’d compare the aggressiveness of the 1st gen OC to that of the _________ “, etc.

I'm sure others will chime in with their comparisons. For me, the Gen 1 OC is in the ballpark of a Blackbird or Timeless .95. It's that mid-aggressive style that is very efficient and comes with some blade feel. Gen 2 SB is closer to a Timeless .68, Vector, ATT M/R, etc. Mid-range aggressiveness that earns the cliche "mild and efficient".
Shane, I had the gen 1, and the gen 2 SB. Shortly after your announcement I sold both to fund other insanity.

I concur with your evaluation of the shave characteristics of both models.

I may have asked this before, but since the gen 1 handle was longer and heavier than the gen 2, are you going to go with one size for both razors ?

FWIW, I preferred the gen 2 size.

JimmyH if you look at the two models on the Blackland website, it looks like he’s using the same handle for both. I’d say it looks more like the handle on your SB razor (on the left), although, candidly, to me the Blackland handle doesn’t look exactly like either one of your originals. Maybe it’s the polish vs the matte finish....though the knurling is definitely different.
