I will 100% be ordering at least the OC, wouldn't mind getting the SB plate with it...

That could happen in the future. This run is all about keeping things simple while we determine actual demand. Multiple base plates really complicates things like serial numbers, order quantities, royalties, etc.
Sounds like not for now on both base plates.

Correct. Only full razors for this run. That could change in the future, but we don't know yet. which provides an FAQ and some other info.

Also, anyone with questions about pre-orders can check out this link which provides an FAQ and some other info.

Shane, any plans for a matte finish down the road?

Interesting question here Shane. I have an original OC. Will the original top cap fit the new baseplate?

I’m guessing a big negatory here. Think about it.

Edit: I stand corrected! I thought for sure there would have been some minute changes in tolerances as a result of the “reverse engineering” design process. Guess that’s what I get for thinking! Please accept my apology george1906. Shane did say there were some minor changes (improvements) made to the handle. I wrongly assumed the same may have been true for the head.

Shane has said this is the same razor so I don't see why it wouldn't.

Shane, for the sake of clarification, since you had mentioned on your website that this Tradere run has been reverse engineered as there were no 3D drawings of the original available... So is there a possibility that the razor might have been tweaked a little to suit the present trend ( asking because straightforward comparisons with Timeless 0.68 and 0.95 are being drawn).

Yes. All parts are fully interchangeable because they share the same design.

No. When I say that this is the same razor, I mean it. The reverse-engineering work was to exactly capture the original design, not to change it. I made no changes to the heads at all. Comparisons with Timeless are just because Timeless makes two popular razors that are mid-aggressive and mid-range so they sit roughly near when the Traderes do. If I made similar DEs I would compare those instead. It’s less a direct comparison and more of a “if you like that, then you’ll probably like this, too”.

That is really good to hear!! Eventually, when and if you offer the parts by themselves, I will have to get the SB base plate.

Well Shane I was going to hold back and wait for a better time, but after looking at the phots again and hearing about this legend early in my wet shaving journey how could I pass this up, the Blackbird is one of my favorite razors, I’m sure I can make room beside it on the shelf for another razor great looking razor.
