Blackland Adjustable: Osprey

Are you going to sell the different sizes of brass bar for users who like handle heavier??

Not initially, but there are a lot of possible paths forward for the handle insert.

The razor is nicely balanced about where the brass insert is which is where your fingers go. So the razor is nicely controlled. A good way to think about the brass is what happens when it’s removed. It reduces weight overall, of course, but it also shifts the weight into the head letting you modulate the handle up and down for angle choice while the head stays more planted on your face. Both are good.

Thank you Shane Blackland Razors.  Perhaps this is a bit over my head, but no matter:  Each shaver has to find his own best option anyway, and there is only one way to do that.

Ah I’m sorry I couldn’t explain it better. We’ll touch on this in future videos that should make it more clear.

No worries at all Shane Blackland Razors.   Fifty years ago, I stuffed enough math in my head to sink a ship.  But I've been retired over a decade now, and you are doing this stuff every day.  The important thing is that when the time comes, I will be able to pick up the razor, try it both ways, and pick whatever works best for me.  So will everyone else.  I did not expect things to occupy this much print, although I do very much appreciate your time and responses.

First off a big congrats on creative designing and continuous development of the Osprey. This razor has had my attention from the first announcement. I really like the look of the handle with the insert. Basically the whole razor looks awesome. I know this question is premature but someone has to ask it.. I'm a big fan of Titanium razors so I got to ask. Is there plans for the Osprey in Ti in the future? 

Can't wait to try this razor.

One of the real functional consumer tests will be whether the first step in the adjustment process, loosening the handle before adjusting the knob, is intuitive and not clumsy.

No big deal...anyone who can't follow instructions (or scared) should just use a small napkin to pinch the head while adjusting
the knob mid-shave.

Regardless, most modern adjustable razors (and vintage) adjust on the fly without the need for the additional step. I’ll have to try it out to see whether it will work for me.

I hold the Blackbird head the same way in the shower to loosen the handle and rinse everything after shaving. It isn’t difficult at all. Remember, a razor handle only needs to be snug, not tight. There’s no need to crank down on it.

Part 6. Final design updates and a full shave with the Osprey

Wow    That is the coolest razor I’ve ever seen.  Amazing.
