I would suggest it to him. Would not hurt to offer first. If he doesn't go for it, split it ($30 loss is better than an eye-soring 130-160 razor you don't want) and also ask for the original shipping refund)if possible too. He is very easy to work with.
I hope things work out with everyone!

I am expecting mine to arrive soon. If it shaves lovely, I will get it polished by a local jeweler.

Hector, I'm glad to hear it shaved well for you! How does it compare to Blackbird in terms of blade rigidity feel and efficiency?

Two different razors IMO. The Blackbird is a bit more aggressive. The Barbaros reminds me of a Feather. The blade sits straight and I didn't noticed any uneven areas while shaving.

I think it was a good thought out concept, but the production logistics was way off. I would use it again, but I have to get over the amateurish look.

Hector, have you thought about eventually getting it polished locally?

Just got my Barberos in the mail today. I have to say that I'm disappointed by the polishing too. Will write back to them with pictures attached.

What was your experience with their service? Are they doing something about it? Are you hoping to get this fix anytime soon?

Thank you!

Hello Pepfire, if you read up on posts, I have shared experience. Basically, in a nut shell, he will take care of you and listen to your concerns. Ask him and he will compromise with you. His customer service is most excellent. Wish his razors were at least a good fraction of his service.
Hope that helps.

On a side note, I see a lot of USA guys are receiving their Barbaros. Mine shipped on the 23rd of March and has been sitting in NY since March 30th.

When did yours ship?

aka: The drizzle, The fume, The puddle
problem i would have with getting it polished locally is all the deep nicks in it. those do not polish out very well if at all when they are deep like that. and if you remove to much of the metal from the top cap or the top of the baseplate then you will throw off the way it shaves.
