Same here. My Barbaros wasn't polished correctly and had scratches all over it. Very disappointed and put a nail in the coffin of these type of venture for me.
Haven't even used it yet. Got it, looked at it, boxed it up, and put it in the junk drawer until I recuperate from the initial shock.

I guess he left it up to someone else to polish the razors and they ended up not on par. But to me, even the machining on the top cap was not good enough. It looked like cast rather than machining. I had dents on the baseplate and handle. He offered the option to send me another but I just spent the extra $$ to send mine back. I was super disappointed and didn't want to deal with it.(04-07-2016, 05:49 AM)mastershake Wrote: hoping to get the issues with my barbaros sorted out. then i can tell you for sure.

I have the Seygus [aluminum] and Blackbird; passed on the Barbaros for the time being. Of the two, I like the performance of the Blackbird more and I also tend to like heavier razors.
Seygus is a mild shaver. Solid quality and an interesting handle design [with the included weight]. Head is reminiscent of other SB heads known as mild. Finish is excellent. To be honest, it is too light for my taste but I do get solid shaves from it and intend on using it next with a heftier handle.
Blackbird is not aggressive but may feel it if you pick up the original [without rounded edges]. It threw me for a bit of a loop as it felt aggressive on the face but was not, merely efficient. Finish is great; again I have brushed and have not seen or used the polished but would likely opt for this were I buying now. Handle options great. I prefer the short but like both. Handle design interesting and provides great grip. Will definitely pick up the OC when it hits the market.
Service and support from both companies are very solid although I had more interaction with Shane at Blackbird.
Good luck and please let me know if you have any other specific questions!

Thanks Ronnie! So are you getting a refund? If that's the case, I'll rather get my money back.

Cool. I think I'm going to do that. When I get disappointed about a product, there's no turning back for me.
