Purchased a Muramasa Adjustable Razor for €329 ... it arrived on 7 July.

After just one shave, I determined that it was not suitable.

As they have a no questions asked return policy, I called them up and
spoke to a guy called João Gomes to organise the return.

He provided a return address and I mailed off the item the very next day, 8 July 2021.

Along with a tracking number, I also sent him detailed, date-stamped pictures
that showed the item being packed and despatched at my post office.

The tracking shows the item entered Portugal on 8 July 2021, and then moved to the
Processing Centre on 22 July 2021.

After that notification, the needle has not moved, and I haven't got my refund.

Due to Covid a number of post offices do not always update tracking. I sold an item to
someone in Germany last month and it was delivered in 8 days flat.

Most times when I mail stuff to the US, the tracking stops when the item enters the US and
is never updated to show final delivery, but the recipients have always emailed me to say,
thanks I got it.

A case has been opened with Paypal...and arbitration is ongoing.

I just wanted to alert the shaving community to be mindful that if you purchase
anything from Tatara and exercise the Return Option, you cannot discount the outcome of
never receiving your refund....for whatever reasons.

I will update this thread as the situation unfolds but it's now 37 days since I mailed the
Muramasa back and the situation is starting to look more and more hopeless.

And to those who may be considering this razor, I can confirm that it turned out to be a
VERY mild shaver on my cheeks, even when fully turned up.

Tester, how is this the fault of Tatara? The item is simply stuck in the Portuguese postal system. I'm sure Tatara will refund you when they receive the item.

Just letting prospective buyers know that this is something to consider when returning
goods to Tatara of Portugal.
Hence the title: Be Aware (as opposed to beware)

“Terrible experience with international shipping” might be a better title.

I don’t think you’re able to determine this has much to do with Tatara. Other shave companies only refunded when they receive the product back (like Aji at H and S).

I’ve never read one bad thing about the guys at Tatara on any forum.

With all due respect, one has to enquire IF you have received confirmation of delivery. If not, then it hardly the fault of Tatara. Further, short of an agreement that Tatara would stand by any shipping loss/damage, why did you not secure insurance?

Not trying to flame you but fail to see a Tatara issue in your post.

Disclosure: have conducted 3 passarounds with Tatara and interfaced on behalf of a US customer, so have a relationship if nonprofessional. Irrespective, the Tatara folk have always been very helpful re customer service

I think the title is accurate and fitting as it involves Tatara Razors.
(I know you have a Tatara razor to sell on BST, but please.)

I've pored over the language used very carefully.

Tatara are as much a part of this as the Portuguese postal service.

If anything, it is Tatara's responsibility to represent the razor accurately
so I wouldn't have to return it.

Their literature says "suitable for every skin and hair (beard) type"
This simply isn't true.

I spoke to him on the phone and followed all his mailing instructions as directed.
I wrote everything as he asked me to, he knows the ins and outs of his postal
system better than me, so I accepted his directions 100%.

I mean...Jeez!

Of course, I understand how things work with returns, and the absence
of a leg to stand on right now....one would have to be deluded not to
register that.

That's why it's even more important that anyone contemplating a purchase
from Tatara should know what the return process is really like. And go in with
eyes wide open.

Sucks when the word police start picking over a corpse, missing the point. I get you tho, Tester. I didn't read your post as laying blame on Tatara. Seems like 37 days should be enough time to get to Portugal but maybe not. I appreciate the perspective. It likely wouldn't cross my mind before purchase that a return saga could play out as yours has. Hopefully it works out in the end. Thanks for the heads up. Fortunately I was able to evaluate a friends and I agree, it isn't "suitable for every skin and hair (beard) type". That claim is worth parsing, to me.
