Beyond the actual scent and efficacy of the various Bay Rums (which tend to be short lived and not always my favorite scent) when using one I often think of the whole nautical theme, huge square riggers with sails billowing in the wind, deep divers with brass helmets discovering sunken chests overflowing with gold doubloons, shapely native women with flowing dark hair and inviting smiles, and the dreams of sailors involving riches, plunder and swordsmanship.

I really get into the whole head game and find myself enjoying it. All from just a few splashes. Love that ship on the VIBR bottles too. It is sailing away, but to where?

Am I weird?

Well, if you have to ask the question then I would say yes but, if it’s any consolation it’s probably in a good way. Smile

It is unfortunate that most bay rums don’t last that long but there are some that last a little longer than average - Barberry Coast, Captain’s Choice, Ogallala, maybe Fine. Of course there’s always bay rum EDP which will take you out a little further.
As for your comment about bay rum not being your favourite scent:

A. Blasphemy!! and,
B. What you need is a little conversion therapy. Gather two or three decent bay rum soap and splash sets, (I can recommend Ethos, Barrister and Mann and Fine) and shave exclusively with those products for two or three months and I guarantee that you’ll be a bay rum lover for life. As I’ve said before, bay rum doesn’t just get onto your skin, it gets under your skin and works its way into your heart and soul. So good.

Not as refined as St. Johns but the HTGAM Bay Rum still has its place in the Hall of Bay Rum  Big Grin

Gotta admit, that bottle would look awfully good sitting on my bathroom counter.

My lady friends might think that I actually have some class!

The scent of cloves is subtle but noticeable. The other components of a bay rum are practically imperceptible, unfortunately

Unfortunately that’s not an uncommon phenomenon. Bay rum in name only. There ought to be a law…

I checked out Viking Revolution website. I wouldn’t call them a wet shaving artisan but more of lifestyle vendor. They list the “key ingredients” in their soap as water, sorbitol, glycerin and essential oils. That’s all they admit to. Four pucks for $9.98. I guess you get what you pay for.
