I’m a big fan of the Ogallala Bay Rum splash especially the double strength one but I’ve found the shaving soap to have a mediocre base. It smells great though! I also like their Lime and Peppercorn and their Sage and Cedar scents. Not as much as bay rum but decent.

I have used one of their shampoo bars and they are OK. I will still plug for the PAA Diver Down as hands down the best spicy AS on the market.

Secretary Ramsey put his foot into it yesterday . . . in the course of his remarks he said that California “needs water and better society.”  “So does h-ll,” yelled someone in the crowd.

I tried Diver Down and it was not for me. I was not able to detect any bay or bay rum despite PAA’s scent notes.

Each to their own but this is the Bay Rum LOVERS thread. Smile

It annoys me a little when an artisan promotes a soap or aftershave as having bay rum or bay notes when there either clearly aren’t any or at least not discernable to the human nose. They know that bay rum heads will find it hard to resist. PAA gets a little more slack in this regard because he does have the largest selection of bay rums in wet shaving. That’s worthy of respect in my book.

...and some of the longest lasting scented bay rums, too..

Which of the PAA bay rums is the strongest and which smells best?

Thats subjective but I'd say strongest are Classico and Atomic Age.  I like the Classic a lot but atomic is very good too. then theres Pineapple Bay Rum which is really nice.  I'm not that big on Boomtown because of the leather in it.  Then you get into the Space Nogg and Blue Samhain and I Gingerbread Man which are all really nice and then theres The Shaving which was a LE from a few years ago which is pretty interesting.  Coconut Bay is probably the mildest Bay scented one in the lineup - more coconut than bay but a nice summer scent.

Since I've gotten struck with the Bay Rum bug.. I've been trying a lot of them. I started with PAA Atomic Bay Rum and it's stronger than the Small Batch but so far out of al the ones I've tried the Ogallala Bay Rum Double Strength Aftershave is the strongest one I've had my nose on. I also like the Pineapple Bay Rum from PAA as you mentioned it's a nice summer Bay Rum.
Question, has anyone tried Royall or St John's I know they cost a lot more but are they worth getting?

Thank you kindly
