But it only good for about 2 hours on me. Dominica about 3. Atomic Age all day. But speaks to tonnes of spice vs traditional bay rum

Bourbon is the key ingredient to Derby. It the Rhett Butler of BayRum

Let me know if wanting a sample

Bourbon would improve anything
Agreed, Bourbon is like Bacon

Bourbon does not belong in bay rum. However...

A bourbon bay rum with a bacon top note?  Confused2  I might like to try that one.

The Holy Black used to do a Bay Whiskey  Lime. It wasn’t bad but they stopped making it and then became more if a “lifestyle “ vendor. Too bad because there was some creative spark there.

I think bourbon can work in bay rum the same way I think clove can work, or almost anything for that matter. It’s about the skill of the maker, balance and whether I like it. I will admit that there are probably narrower parameters as to what constitutes a bay rum than what constitutes, say, a barbershop scent. But rules can be broken and parameters expanded if done skillfully enough.  At the end of the day it comes down to whether you like it or not.

I think Hemingway Accoutrements has bourbon in it. Whether you’d consider it a bay rum is arguable. Probably not a true bay rum but it’s closer to bay rum than barbershop and I like it. It’s well blended, balanced and smells good. Bourbon good
