Offers a classic Bay Rum fragrance that does without cloves. It contains essential oils of rose, laurel and St. Thomas Bay, which create a warm and woody fragrance. The fragrance is sensual and masculine, with a light sweetness and spice reminiscent of traditional barbershop fragrances

I tried this one a few years back and was disappointed in the scent. Bay Rum in name only in my opinion. I’ve had similar experiences with a few soaps, notably the Obsessive Soap Perfectionist (OSP) whose Bay Rum smelled to me more like Probert’s Saddle Soap.  I contacted him about it to politely inquire if it was possible that containers had been mixed up. He told me plenty of people loved his bay rum and that if I had a problem I should piss off, or words to that effect. I don’t believe he’s around anymore.  Granted, he had a decent base but when you pick that name you set a pretty high bar as far as expectations go.  Clearly he wasn’t that obsessive or perfect…yes, yes, I should let it go right?

unfortunately, bay rum is one of those scents where there's a WIDE variety on what is and what isn't 'bay rum'. long rifle's bhay rum is an example of this. while their shave tonic base seems to be fine and the scents long lasting, I hate the smell of the bhay rum.

My New Year’s resolution was to be kinder in both thought and word. It’s only January 2 and I think I’ve blown it. In my defence, we are talking about bay rum here!  Seriously, BAY RUM!,

Rhum differs from rum in being distilled from fresh pressed sugar cane juices (typically in French territories).

Even possessing an undiscerning peasant's palate, the rum/rhum variants are easily detectable with my preference leaning to solera, specifically Zacapa.

I agree that it’s probably just using the French spelling, not ye olde English Spelling.

With how much good rum is made in the Spanish speaking countries of the world, makes me wonder why nobody has ever made a nice Bay Ron?
