what do you mean by rather hard to splash it all over your face?

Probably just that a balm type product is easier to apply to all corners because of the viscosity and non-alcoholic nature (might get in your eyes, etc.).

- Do you think one could use the AS as a daily moisturizer, even on non-shaving days?
- What is the recommended shelf life (or better, PAO)?

You could, but it might be rather hard to splash it all over your face (and it would be STRONG for awhile). The shelf life is essentially unlimited (the product is still largely alcoholic), but I've never heard the abbreviation PAO. Would you mind clarifying?

Exactly. Since Reserve has a viscosity very close to that of water, it may be a little challenging to spread it all over your face, whereas a lotion or balm, because of its higher viscosity, would be much easier.

I completely forgot about the water-like viscosity! And I cannot be excused, since I tried it during the Maggard meetup

I wet my face first, then spread all over shaved areas. This is how I use all aftershave splashes and balms.

My modus operandi, as well. I feel it makes it easier, quicker and more economical to apply splashes and balms this way. (Of course, slightly diluting them in the process, which could be seen as a good or a bad thing…)

That could be weaponized! It already makes my eyes water like I've been tear gassed just from being on my face! And yes, I have been tear gassed

Actually I believe it is quite the opposite, whereas it actually increases absorption.
