To me it’s like a more pub Diamond. Complex and layered beer (craft beer) with some other stuff going on. Not grass and popcorn but a similar vibe but pub.

I wanted that one, but it sold out in about 2 seconds on the B&M site.  Cry   I have a Soft Heart Roam for sale in the BST new & untouched. The scent is just not for me.  Confused

I picked it up at Top of The Chain. I think it lasted a little longer but not that long. It’s so rare for B&M to do a single accord scent I figured I had to have it. I hope you can find one.

I have the very first roam in the white tub and I also have it in excelsior. I passed on it in Soft Heart. Roam is one of those scents whose popularity has always surprised me. I think a lot of people think that it’s so popular it must be great but it’s a love it or hate it scent. It’s like Cyril R Salter French Vetiver. I love it but there are plenty of people who think it’s foul. And you don’t know where you will come down until you smell them.

I really liked brew ha ha. I didn’t know what to expect, but that one really impressed me.

I'm of the opinion that Soft Heart is better than almost every base on the market, with the exception of K2 and Mammoth Tusk. The first time I had tried Soft Heart was with the Hallows release and I was blown away. Excelsior simply doesn't compare. While soft heart leaves my face soft, supple, and hydrated, excelsior leaves my face pretty dry and use PLENTY of water.

Are K2 and Mammoth Tust thirsty or not?

I got Excelsior from Movemver, it is a bit thirsty for me, too. But Dickens has nice Christmas scent.
Then I ordered soft heart (Roam), I really like the soap, I think it has similar characters to GD Nai or Kairos (my other favorite soaps).
Not thirsty, excellent hydration, easy to lather, very slick.
Only I didn't like the Roam scent, cuz I am not a fan of Smoke, Leather and Grass scents.

Yes, I received a sample from Maggard the other day and used it today for the first time. Upon whiffing the small tub it is surely related to Fougere Gothique (which I do not like), but upon lathering the iris takes the reins and this unfolds into a beautiful scent like no other.

I really do admire Will's audacity to experiment despite sometimes generating scents that I thoroughly dislike. However, Will is not in business to please me exclusively and as well he sometimes makes a winner. This is the latter. However, do not judge this one until lathered.  Wink

Thanks BPman ! I agree with you, Will is a creative guy for sure.

That's odd.  I experienced no similarities to Fougère Gothique either dry or lathered in practice, nor do I see any on paper.  Maybe it's the lichen element that you picked up from the tub.  That note is like a hybrid of moss and mushroom. Glad you ended up liking the lathered product, regardless. To my nose, Eigengrau was as-advertised.  It's definitely an icy clean air essence (I have no idea how they pull that off) that's sweetened by the iris but on a muted level. It's difficult to ascertain when the cold air ends and the slightly camphorous crushed fir needle takes over. It's all grounded in a dry clean earthiness with subtle muskiness.  This fragrance smells like a real place.  It's so frigid in its characteristics, I expected to feel a chilling effect à la Terror, but there was none.  That said, Eigengrau is in good company with Terror and First Snow.

The last element to fall away is the iris, but I would never call this one a floral.  By the nature of the fragrance and medium (balm), I lose track of it after about 90 minutes.
