Super excited for this one!

I snagged the Fern Soap and Splash as well as the Lavender Soap and Splash. I had ordered the Fern/Lavender Reserve Sample Pack earlier to see if I liked them, and I think they both smell amazing. I waited to purchase the full sized Soaps until the Splashes came out so I could bundle them. Iâ€m really looking forward to these, I think the scents are excellent and the Reserve Soap and Splash are some of the best Iâ€ve used. Looking forward to Will expanding his Reserve line!

Same here. Got a sample of the Fern soap and knew I had to have it. Like you, I was waiting for the aftershave to drop for the bundle action. I haven't smelled the Lavender. Is it a straight up lavender or is there more going on? I typically find plain lavender scents to be kind of boring so that one didn't pique my interest. I would be interested to hear your (or anyone else's) thoughts.

To my nose the Soap is a very smooth Lavender without a lot of spiciness, and it also has some “earthiness” to me. There is some spice to it, but it doesnâ€t sting your nose like some other Lavender Soaps Iâ€ve smelled. The closest thing the Lavender portion of the Soap reminds me of is Cape Verde from MLS, although to me Cape Verde has more going on. I would say B&Mâ€s Lavender is “cleaner”,  but then it also has the earthiness going along with it, so to me itâ€s definitely not just straight up Lavender. Unfortunately I donâ€t have a very educated nose, but hopefully this at least gives you an idea. Canâ€t wait to experience the Lavender Splash!

Edit- this is one of those times Iâ€d love to hear from Will on the subject!

Thanks TheHunter. That helps a lot! Sounds like I may have to give it a try at some point. You can't go wrong with any of the other Reserve scents so I suspect that lavender is good too.

Does anyone know of any reviews on Eventide? I have not seen any yet. Thanks

did not see any reviews either, but had my first shave with it this morning. As soon as I finished my shave, I placed an order for a back up soap+AS set.

Was just wondering the same yesterday — also about Promises.

Ordering a backup set says a lot, though…
Whenever I go to shave, I assume there’s someone else on the planet shaving, so I say “I’m gonna go shave, too.”

Yeah, but should you get a backup for your backup? Big Grin

Yes, I was just thinking the same thing. That may be all the review I need.

An excellent question!

Just wanted to share a few thoughts :

Performance-wise it works absolutely fantastically- the glissant base is my favorite of all B&M offerings. Loads easily, can take a lot of water and the lather is just sublime. Scent-wise I did not think that I could like anything more than the Leviathan. The Eventide proved me wrong. The Oud accord is very pronounced and nicely complemented by the tart lemon/lime notes. The rose makes the whole bouquet feel refined and elegant. The scent longevity is above average - I shaved around 11am and could still detect the scent on my hands around 10pm. The scent of the AS is perfectly matching the soap, not identical to my nose though.

Thank you for this.  I love Barrister & Mann products but had to admit that I just didn't care for the Reserve formula.  Though I did try to like it, I just don't enjoy having to play with it to build the lather.  The Glissant formula, however, was love at first use and, for me, remains Will's best soap formulation.
