Lately, there has been a upswing of what I call, "controversy baiting". Threads started not to further our mutual interest of this hobby, but rather to enflame. The common terminology is "trolling".
I respectfully ask those trolls (and you know who you are) to ply your trade on another site. Reddit comes to mind. DFS should be a "troll-free zone".
Thank you.

Not to troll your "baiting" thread. We don't want "bating" either.

Big Grin You must be a lawyer, if not in this life, in the previous one! Sorry, I spent 25 years as an in-house lawyer for a corporation and at times I felt like the english teacher for the rest of the company.

Well said primotenore . The Moderator Team strives to ensure that DFS remains a forum of civil discussion of shaving related matters. There's nothing wrong with good natured humour but DFS is a place for sincere discussion in the spirit of good will and respect.

Thank you. Spelling was never my forte... Blush Edited accordingly. Big Grin

I would prefer to keep the toxic threads to a minimum during my stay at DFS.

Can't agree with you, sorry. There are plenty of places for you to get your fill of rubbish. This should not be the place.

Thank you, primotenore for this thread. I think it was needed.

Look, I happen to have a very sarcastic and sometimes irreverent sense of humor, but I try very hard to keep it toned down on DFS. There is no sarcasm font. I also try to remember that we have a very diverse community here. English is not necessarily the first language of any particular member. We have members from all walks of life. There are a vast number of cultures represented here not only from the U.S.A., but from all over the world. There are many generations represented here, as well. I feel that this diversity is a wonderful thing. We are all so different, but we also all have an interest in traditional wet shaving.

I believe that if one is going to post something with the thought, "Well, this ought to get a rise out of somebody!" then I think you should:

1. Chuckle to yourself.
2. Back away from the keyboard/phone/tablet
3. Move on

If you are able to complete #1 on that list and refrain from posting, great! If not, please continue and complete steps #2 & #3 above.

Please note that this post is not directed to any one person in particular. It is meant to maybe help some people see things from a different perspective.
