I have used a tub of L'Orange Verte and have the AS as well and I get no "barbershop" connection at all. I get a heavy scented orange with a myriad of deep and tantalizing spices. It's a "heavy hitter" for sure................right out of the ballpark!!  Wink

My samples came today and I am glad that I didn't buy full sized.  Blush  It's a good scent and I get the smoke in the drydown, but overall it's simply not something I would relish. YMMV.

Since some of the first comments I saw about Nordost were overwhelmingly positive (including “scent of the year”), I’m surprised to see that for several others, it’s been “just okay”. Very eager to find out how I like it. Barrister and Mann must have been hit by both customer traffic and weather, as my order from Friday hasn’t shipped yet. The good news is that I think I have just about enough other wet shaving products to tide me over in the meantime. Smile

I shaved with it today and it, like all Excelsior base soaps, shaved fantastic. Make no mistake about that!! It's a fine scent, but B&M ruined me with Citracuya.  Heart

No surprise at all....EVERY soap out there gets the same reactions..... Some love it...others don’t.....It’s impossible to pre-judge how one will like it based solely on comments...or reviews...

I'm just not sure if it's for me. Will is definitely accurate with the scent description: burnt oranges with some smoke.

Got my 2 bottles finally. I get oranges on open but not unlike FG and Angelique the dry down is when the scent shines. If you are going off scent from the bottle I'd suggest wearing it a few times.

Definitely not scent of the year but an easy wearer especially after dry down.
