The lather quality was excellent, and I agree with onethinline in that there is a slight resemblance to PannaCrema Nuavia's lather consistency (which is a huge compliment IMO). I was very happy with the slickness and protection, and post-shave was excellent.
Yeah I found this a bit surprising (in a good way, ultimately), as this "Nuàvia-like quality" does not happen with Le Grand Chypre, which uses the first version of Glissant. Sounds like the safflower oil makes a significant difference. By contrast, though I much enjoy LGC, its lather seems pretty similar to earlier B&M soaps: sort of a thick, cold-cream or dense yogurt consistency. This new Glissant, on the other hand, is lighter, "fluffier" (not in a dry foamy way though; it's still wet), and seemed to get slick much, much faster. It's actually quite a new experience from a B&M soap.
(Contrast another tallow-lanolin-shea formula that's been tweaked: CRSW v1 versus v2, where v2's lather consistency is very similar to v1; for me it's just a bit trickier to dial the water in properly.)
