How would you say it compares to the mongoose?

Fellowship of cold water shavers

I find it much more comfortable and maneuverable.

Well I had my first shave with it today. Wow never using s DE again. I do have to say I did have a difficult time removing the Kai blades compared to the feather pro.
I started on left cheek with the Kai mild, did not like that at all. Left hair and very pully. Same with the right cheek with the Kai original. I put the feather professional in and smooth as butter and closest shave I have ever had. Only blade left to try is the pro super.

If I was comparing blades to the DE I used. Would say that the Kai was close to the platinum or coated blades. They are smooth but just don't cut close enough for me. The Professional seems like the Kai DE very sharp but also very smooth. I'm thinking that the pro super are just like the feather DE, super sharp and close with little razor burn.

Not sure if want to keep polished or send it to Delta Echo for a all black look.

I like that polish job. Looks like you matched the head with the handle, nicely. Though the polished look would do it for me, I must admit that a DE all black treatment would give you a unique razor. I assume the the DE finish is good with the stainless steel. Haven't read much about it in spite of being a gun guy, too!

Wow, what a great idea.  I've got to give it a try with that handle.

slantman I tried this combo today and the shave was about the best I have had. I may not like the Rocnel P head, but that handle on the ATT SE is wonderful. Looks great in the stand as well, looks like they came as a set. Very pleased, thanks for the idea!

Glad you like the combination Doug. Incidentally I love the Rocnel P SE but I am using a much lighter generic aluminum anodized handle. Going slow the shave is extremely close and smooth & 86 the irritation.

I can easily go 20 shaves on a single Artist Club blade (Kai Captain Titan Mild being my favorite) when I use them in either my SS Mongoose or my AlumiGoose. I may be able to go longer, but usually after 20 shaves I just put a new blade in. At that point, the blade doesn't owe me anything. Wink
