Rlacrossjr What did you use to polish up the head? It looks great!

So with the bamboo handle or the JH Ti UFO, the SE1 is ok. Shaved like the M1. I got the mongoose II and tried the Hex handle on it. Great setup shaves smooth and close like I enjoyed my R1 and with the pro super like the H1. Pics with it on the hex handle. Of course I had to polish it to match.

So my SE journey started with SE1. SOLD- then Mongoose II, which was nice but I have OCD on poor craftsmanship on a $180 razor. Sold her. Then tried Alumigoose V2, very mild even with a Pro Super blade. Would say Alumigoose was machined nice, compared to there stainless version. SOLD Alumigoose. Got my hands on King Cobra with JH Ti handle, just my opinion- it's a overpriced piece of brass. Too heavy and bulky for me. Seems like a metal version of Gillette mach. Sold cobra and bought ATT again. ATT craftsmanship is best in SE class. Perfect edges and smooth surface. Paired with my Ti Farnsy it is the best a man can get.

Quite a journey. I have only tried the ATT SE1 which I still have. The only blade that has worked for me is the Feather Pro. I have one more blade to try Kai Captain Original. PS your photos do not appear.

Not sure on pictures, can see them on Tapatalk and in the safari browser. I can use Kai Captain Mild, Feather Pro and Super with the ATT. I can't say the same with other SE's

Here are my reviews on the blades I tried. Feather Pro and Kai Captain Original worked for me, the others did not.

Feather - Pro Light: Did not fit ATT SE. Threw in trash.
Feather - Pro Super: Felt like it was pulling hairs and not cutting. Switched to DE razor during shave.
Feather - Professional: Worked well. I now have a 20 pack and will try again after the Kai Original is used.
Kai - Captain Original: Worked well. Excellent for last few shaves. I will compare with Feather Pro to see which I like better.
Kai - Captain Sharpblade: Meh. Dont recall specifics. I think this was the other one where I switched to DE during shave.
Kai - Captain Titan Mild: Felt like it was pulling hairs and not cutting.

Picked up another one used. Sold the bamboo garbage handle and put on Timeless TRH4. Hand polished both.
SE seems to work best for me with a handle 13-14mm diameter and length 90-100mm

Think this will be my SE until Blackland release there black oxide SE. Been hinting this would be coming after the OC DE baseplate.

I received my ATT SE2 head a couple of days ago and have had two shaves with it so far. (I believe it's the redesigned, more aggressive SE2 head.) I used my usual blade, the Feather AC Pro Super, which I normally load into a Feather AC DX or Kai Captain straight. A straight is often supposed to be infinitely aggressive, but this is a myth. A straight can actually be the gentlest of shaves, depending on how you wield it. In any case, the SE2 with a fresh Pro Super blade is quite aggressive -- right up there with the Mühle 2011 R41 -- and a bit more aggressive than I'm used to with the Feather or Kai straight razors. The shave is wonderful -- two passes plus touch-up for BBS. For my first shave I used the humongous Matador S5 stainless handle, and for last night's I used the slender but still hefty Weber 2012 Classic handle. Both were very nice, and the weight of the handles added to the aggressiveness of the shave. Tonight I think I'll try using the ATT Kronos handle.

The new SE2 is top-notch. It won't replace my straights, but I will keep going back to it for its effectiveness and ease of use. Two thumbs up.  Happy2 Happy2

It's sharp and it cuts. I like it...

Talk about blowing off the cobwebs! Just had to bring this thread up and mention this razor from Above The Tie. I acquired the SE1 (2016 version) less than a year ago for a decent price, I think $80-$90ish. Not that I needed it but, just wanted to see how it fared against some of the other SE’s (Vector, Rx, Brass Gen., Claymore, Cobra, Ikon “El Jefe”, Ikon MR-SE, Enoch, & Hawk V3) in my den which range from very good to excellent shavers. And I must say that the SE1 is no slouch when it comes to slicing & dicing whiskers. Works well with a wide array of blades especially with the Schick Proline installed. Has good weight to the razor head with better than average smoothness that gets me a BBS finish in 2 and sometimes 3 full passes without a need for touch ups or buffing. The Vector is the King in terms of balance, smoothness, nimbleness and good efficiency with the Rx being top dog in whisker annihilating prowess though it is the least smoothest/comfortable razor in my line up. The SE1 surprisingly fits right in between those two and feels similar to the Hawk & MR-SE with maybe just the tiniest amount more of blade feel. Honestly, it’s a surprisingly good performer that competes well with today’s newer SE razors even though it’s only 5 years young. Still it’s an excellent razor made by ATT to quality standards and I believe is still relevant in today’s SE shaving market.

I’m glad I was able to pick one up and I consider it to be a top notch performer....
