Expected release in July

How do the open comb La Faulx plates shave?
#83
Using one tomorrow or Friday. Been testing the Wolfman WR4 for my last couple shaves which is outstanding in every way. Looking forward to getting a shave in with one of the more aggressive plates from Durdan.

First use of the new plates. Went with the most aggressive (++OC) on this first run and I can truly say that it amps up the blade feel and aggressiveness significantly. I need to adjust my angle with that one because the teeth are longer than an average OC and it was somewhat uncomfortable in use. Next I will use the ++SB which I think will be amazing in use. After all is said and done, I feel like I will love the ++SB and +OC. Efficiency seems to be much higher from this shave with the ++OC but only time will tell.[Image: 0309d1edf26b334eafb5f3f3d1ca391a.jpg]

Used the ++SB with a Schick Proline today. Awesome shave. Only issue I have is that I detected a bit of drag. Overall, the shave was smooth and highly efficient. I will say that the Wolfman WR4 seems to be more efficient and the gap on that one is .77 but won’t know for sure until stubble starts to grow from this shave. The WR4 lasted 16-17 hours with a Feather Super. The La Faulx is definitely a winner in every way though. That ++ amped up my shave with it while retaining the smoothness. I definitely prefer the SB version of this one so far. That ++OC was not a comfortable easy shave. This one was. The head paired with that Karve handle makes for a stunning combo. Today was a shave for the books with the +OC plate! Found the perfect angle with a Schick Proline and had an amazing shave and outstanding results. I think I like the Schick Proline blades in this one. This razor has moved ahead of the Vector titanium for the number 2 spot behind the new Wolfman WR4.

George,

Do you know how the SB+ vs OC might compare? I loved the smoothness of the SB pass around but would like a little more efficiency but not so much to lose the smooth and irritation free shave.

I have the ++SB and it was still super smooth but had a slight bit of drag with it. Kind of weird as I had no drag with the original and +OC today. The smoothness was a retained across all baseplates except the ++OC but I think that was because I used a Feather Super and could not get my angle right on that one.
