So, the weirdest thing about this razor for me is the drag that I get when using the ++SB plate. I get no drag from the +OC plate or the original plate. The drag on the ++SB got worse and worse on each pass. Hence, I will probably not use that plate again. I loved the +OC plate and need to try my ++OC again. I thought the ++SB was going to be my favorite but not happening with the obscene amount of drag I get in use with it. Anyone else have that plate and had any issues?

Have the prices gone up since the new finishes were added? The head alone in polished finish is 400 euro now. I don’t recall them being that expensive a month ago.

The new machined finish is roughly the same price as the old price of the sand blasted finish and everything else has gone up in price.

That’s a shame. I was wanting to buy one but was waiting for people to receive other plates and provide comments.

Really nice first shave with the new + OC arrival.

I ordered the machine finish and polished it up myself, and paired the stand and head with a CG handle. I do not recommend the machine finish as the teeth are quite sharp. A bead blast or proper polish would fix the issue and well worth the small upcharge IMO.

I do hope a shorter comb is offered in the future as the angle for effective shaving is very limited.

Is there a photo somewhere that shows some close up photos of the different finishes? I'm wondering how machined vs. basic polished vs premium polished.

Machined finish

Not seen any photos of the basic polish yet, most people seem to have the premium finishes on here.

I think these different finish options are online since two/three weeks - the actual waiting time is around 10weeks so I think we have to be patience before we see some razors with the new finishes.
I am wondering the difference between Basic polish and Premium polish.
I have a TI polish (when there was only one polish option). Price increased a lot with the Premium polish.
Ive paid around 500€ for full TI polish
With the Premium its around 100€ more nowdays

Good point about he new finishes not being offered for much time yet. I thought perhaps that the maker may have posted some finish photos (I saw a couple but not of all the finishes).

I was also surprised about how much the prices went up. I was going to order one in polished but was waiting for some comments from folks that ordered the + / ++ / OC plates and while I was waiting the new finishes came out and the prices went up. I can't really justify ~$620 for one now in the polished finish.

Good point but I'd hoped to see some photos from Augustin. The online shop could do with some real photos of the razors.

"We're also introducing a basic polished version. This finish retains the unique traces of machining, but adds more shine and highlights to your shaver."

Sounds like a machined razor with some polishing.

I'd definitely recommend going with the plus plate. The standard La Faulx plate is mild unless you use Pro Supers.
